When I visited the pumpkin festival last weekend I of course had to buy some pumpkins as decoration. Cleo has never been a big fan of pumpkins and it seems to get worse every year ….
Always very gnarly and snarly, but it has to be said that with this male Scottish wild cat (pure bred), Braveheart has my heart.
If ever you visit British Wildlife Centre, do book a photography day as he is perhaps one of the best posers, notwithstanding their wonderful foxes and otters.
27th April 2017:
It wasn't great weather this morning so I disturbed Izzy while she was having 40 winks in the bedroom for a spare photo in case I didn't get out.
I didn't get out, but had decided to use the photo of her anyway as I really liked it. It shows off the other part of her character, the evil demon!

Margo is less than impressed about being bathed, she hates being wet but happy to run riot with post bath zoomies and then be blow dried.
I bathed & dried all three dogs today, 6 beds & numerous towels, we all need a nap lol.
it's - 34 today, minus who knows what with windchill.
Time to break out the doggie boots.
Even though the photo doesn't show it Gyp and Kaleb like their boots they'll play out in the snow forever with them on, and their feet won't last even 5 minutes if they aren't wearing them. I last about 10 minutes throwing a ball and playing with them.
Jane thinks either way this weather f**ing sucks.

This is Leroy wearing his headwear for Christmas... you can tell how very impressed he is...he really didn't want me to hang the ball off his antlers....
oh and as an aside..the antlers are really two different colors...I think one is more weathered than the other...they are sheds found at two different locations, different years, but almost match perfectly otherwise...
To say that Cleo isn't very impressed by the pumpkins I bought last week is probably the understatement of the year. It seems that in Cleo's world pumpkins are even worse than Mondays and the combination of both is the ultimate disaster.
Scott never seems very impressed when I point the camera in his direction which is probably why you don't see his face pop up on my stream too often, but hey, every once in a while I need to mix it up on this stream.

Found this cute shot in the archives from a trip to Boonstra Farm. I had a few titles for this one, like:
"Who gave the dog a happy pill?" or "Who invited the mutt?" or "Watch it Charlie, I could swat that smile off your face with just one paw!!"
This was taken mid-September and notice my daughter's friend is wearing shorts......how great it will be to see sunny days like these again!
We made a trek to the Toronto Zoo over the weekend and this Great Horned Owl caught my attention. He was perched on the other side of a wire enclosure and with no escape, seemed to be trying hard to ignore all the commotion around him. It was, wear a Halloween costume and get in free day for the kids - so it was busy and noisy. Looking like a Grumpy Gus, he didn't look too impressed with me either as I tried to blur out the wire with a shallow depth of field.
Ted: "Mum and Dad have dragged me all the way to a building site! This is supposed to be a very old city built by the Ancient Greeks, but they should have used young Greeks, the oldies can't build fast enough. Still, perhaps it'll be nice when they finish it....Anyway, I'm staying in the shade of this tree for now, it's too hot out there in the sun."
this was meant to be a 10 minute edit. it turned into a 1hr30 edit which was ironically enough time for me to stop feeling pissed off.

The groom's father is very happy for his eldest son's big day. He however, is not impressed by his youngest son's inability to keep his kilt around his waist...Good thing the bride is too happy to notice!
Scottish version of "Where's My Pants?" is called "Where's My Kilt?" :D
Here's the look I got from Macey when I asked her this question.......talk about expressing her thoughts with a single expression!!! Our queen kitty doesn't do "outside" in the winter and especially not on a day like today. We had a little mini-blizzard last night, mother nature just isn't ready to let us see green anytime soon!
Even the cat is looking out the window longingly, like the rest of us, hoping to see the seasons change.
A Harris's hawk on display at the Osgoode Medieval Festival was looking less than impressed. His handler was spraying him with a fine water mist, presumably to cool him down.
The Harris's hawk (Parabuteo unicinctus) formerly known as the bay-winged hawk or dusky hawk, is a medium-large bird of prey that breeds from the southwestern United States south to Chile, central Argentina, and Brazil. Birds are sometimes reported at large in Western Europe, especially Britain, but it is a popular species in falconry and these records almost certainly all refer to escapes from captivity.
The name is derived from the Greek para, meaning beside, near or like, and the Latin buteo, referring to a kind of buzzard; uni meaning once; and cinctus meaning girdled, referring to the white band at the tip of the tail. John James Audubon gave this bird its English name in honor of his ornithological companion, financial supporter, and friend Edward Harris.
The Harris's hawk is notable for its behavior of hunting cooperatively in packs consisting of tolerant groups, while other raptors often hunt alone. It is the Harris's hawk's intelligence that leads to its social nature, which results in easier training and has meant that Harris's hawks have become a popular bird for use in falconry.

Merry Christmas Everyone! I hope you've all had wonderful days and have been spoiled with family time and by Santa.
Me, I was spoiled this year. Nard gave me a 40mm macro lens (or micro, as Nikon likes to call it) so I went a little nuts playing with at my parents place.
The great thing about this lens is that it can double as a portrait lens, which is what I was using it for here when I decided to pester my rarely seen brother, who is in town for the holiday.
I can't wait to really go nuts with the macros now that I have a lens! Look out flowers and bugs, when the snow melts, I'm coming for you!!

Here's Jazz, her owners are the one's we visited in the country. This is the look she gave when asked if she "needed" to go outside to well, you know......apparently the idea of a few minutes outdoors was not very appealing in -30 weather. Can't say I blame her!!
And to add to that depressing scenario......did any of you know that today has been granted the title, Blue Monday? Yup, January 17th has been given the honor of being the most depressing day of the year!
