I was trying to find the balance of backlight and lighting the strawberry directly. The surface of the water and oil reflect the direct light which causes crazy highlights. My setup is in a closet and I am working on the floor which helps dictate how long I can work. When my back and legs are done, I pack it up.
I decided to try to capture the texture of the nuts while using the small pedestal that I shot the cherries on yesterday.

The magic ingredients for Tyndall rays in landscape photography are thin fog, low sunlight and a breaking pattern like trees or branches where the light can stream through. The result can be really stunning.

This wonderful autumnal scenery had been already a picture, even before I opened the shutter of my camera. As the sun had already set behind the horizon, the bark of the apple tree beautifully reflects the light bouncing off from the after-glowing sky. The terrific red leaves give the scene the extra taste of a miracle.

Despite I come quite frequent to this location nearby my home, I especially like to visit when the lake is frozen and we have such magical wintry conditions like this morning in early January, 2020. This shot consists of a fourteen vertical exposures. Nevertheless, the stitched panoramic result was quite hard to crop, as I wanted to show the nice structure of the big poplar tree on the left, as well as the fallen tree on the right. That's why I came around with the very wide format at the end.

- je suis passée à Affinity Photo pour l'editing (en combinaison à Lightroom, que j'utilise depuis un moment)...soyez indulgents, il va falloir que je prenne un minimum mes marques avec ce nouveau programme (d'où mon manque de présence ces derniers temps).

L’idée est d’explorer et de partager avec vous un regard et un style un peu différents des clichés habituels postés ici et sur @muriel.m.photography (qui sont plus artistiques et généralement portés sur l’onirisme et la douceur...😌). Working on seeing things in a different way. Sometimes we have to change the angle at which we view things. Other times, adding light will work. This time I did both. I got down low then I bounced light behind the leaves using a gold reflector and I just love the way it changed it from being flat and boring. What are your favorite ways to change your view?

Although I thought I would work on images with paper this week, I couldn't resist this connected pair of cherries. It's funny how many different images of cherries exist already in the world and I decided to shoot another one. It's not an original idea but who cares? I wanted to honor this pair of cherries and I just about had donated this cute little pedestal but rescued it before the donations were dropped off. I'm still in purging mode and it feels good, holding on to things that no longer serve us isn't healthy.

This is a representation of my mind over the course of the last few days. My inability to focus on anything, spots of brightness and hope, spots of darkness and turmoil is all contained. I do not expect that this will resolve itself for some time. Peace to you.
I did not clean up my setup from yesterday and discovered the oil had settled into this beautiful pattern. I couldn't pass up on a full-frame image. The shapes and light are good but I still feel the focus is off, I'll blame the handheld camera again.
