Serenity Skin with Appiers - The Makeover Room - September

I liked this series of shots. Of course, the close-ups of her face were out of focus, her legs and feet were over exposed, and I forgot to move the blanket, rug, and her sandals out of the shot. Really, it’s a wonder I point the camera the right way some times. But I do like the light reflection off her anklet and skirt. That almost makes up for the glare elsewhere.

Just woken up, on the way to freshen' up. No make-up glory.

I didn’t have internet for two days, so although taken at the right time, not uploaded until tonight.

I thought I'd never take the "no makeup" shot and post it on the internet. But this morning I was pleased with my very freshly washed and blow-dried (therefore crazy) hair and I liked the morning sunshine. So... here it is. I have red eyelashes as well! :)

I'm one of those girls that's just not comfortable unless I'm made up to my standards to face the world.

I know. It's terrible and kind of shallow and I'm working on it.

So consider this a step in the positive direction. I'm not quite as terrified as I thought I'd be.

I love how the camera (two cameras ago for me) chose to focus on the bucket located bottom right rather than the human taking up the rest of the frame. Ah the days before face detection. We’ll tell our grandkids about it, but in those stories we’ll be running barefoot in the snow from flame breathing dinosaurs (uphill and on the way to school of course).

It was pretty chilly this morning when we got up at 0530. 2 hrs later she's all bundled up and falls asleep in her recliner...Shhh, don't tell her I took this shot - No Makeup!!!

as it came from the camera

I've had people basically equate me to a fairy. And while I love that, I feel like I'm more of a goblin.

I work from home and am quite the introverted. So I don't end up really getting out much and thus my outward appearance isn't usually first on my mind. To the point where I sometimes go full goblin mode. Greasy skin and hair that scream for a shower or bath, clothes that I've worn for probably a week or two straight, no makeup, maybe a bra???

That was me today. Like seriously, I woke up, ran my fingers through my hair and could feel all the oil from it on my hand. Lovely lol

But don't worry, after I got this picture, I did finally end up showering.

Wonderful people... honest, fun loving, hard working, enjoy life and beauty… existentialists...

The Black Hmong are the 3rd largest minority in Vietnam with nearly 900,000 people. In the Sapa region there are about 35,000 Black Hmong residing in the surrounding 17 villages and they account for about 50% of the area population. Most reside at an altitude of 1,600 – 1,700 meters above sea level in this stunningly beautiful region they call “the city above the clouds”. The Hmong started migrating to Vietnam from China in the last 300 years.

In this region about half the Hmong are Catholic and half animistic. They live of the land growing rice and corn and they all believe in the spirits.

Some of those hashtags in the title are lies. She is wearing makeup, woke up hours before the photoshoot, and I applied my own filter.
