Last month I took my car in for winterizing: studded snow tires on, replace block heater plug, check battery and coolant, etc. It was going to be a few hours, so I did a walkabout on the streets of Swift Current to see what I could see.
I'm not all that interested in "street scenes" per se - although I did consider hanging around a couple of the key intersections, nothing inspired me. There were few pedestrians and a lot of pickup trucks. It's a prairie town, after all.
It took 15 or 20 minutes to forget about content and just look at graphics, shooting freely. I know most viewers come to my site for the nature and wildlife images, so bear with me. Tackling other subject matter can be a good thing. It helps keep me fresh, and anything I learn about design is applicable to the photography of wild places. What interested me here was the juxtaposition of the natural and man-made. More to come...
