Ostraca with a laundry list

 

This ostraca with a laundry list was found at Deir el-Medina. It written in a hieratic inscription and has drawings showing names, shapes, and numbers of different types of garments. It shows that individuals were provided with public services.

Funerary Furniture of Sennedjem's tomb

 

Tombs were equipped with objects that had been used in this life and the next . Other objects were meant to assist the deceased in the afterlife, such as the shabtis in their coffins and boxes.

Shabtis served the deceased in the afterlife, and often stood in for him when he was called to work for the gods.
