Argentinian tall ship Libertad makes a weekend call to Dublin.
The 340-foot-long Libertad arrived from Baltimore, USA & berthed at the toll bridge on cruise 18, opening to the public.
The 149-day training voyage to 11 ports across nine countries including Brazil, Santa Lucia, Dominican Republic, Cuba, Mexico, USA, Ireland, France and Spain.
Commanding Officer Captain Carlos Schavinsky Trinchero, the Libertad is the Argentinian Navy’s sail training ship with a crew of 24 officers, 187 crewmen, as well as 150 cadets.
Seen above on the first night at Dublin, beatifully lit up in the evening sky, showing off the incredible rigging & masts.
Dublin's O'Connell Bridge, named after Daniel O'Connell spans between the night sky & River Liffey, connecting the north & south of the Capital, something to reflect on.

Part of the Dublin winter lights 2022, a Viking longboat beams brightly on the River Liffey, a new addition to the annual lighting effects for the Christmas season.
Viking longboats have been sailing up the River LIffey since around the year 795, just not with LED lighting.

Dutch violinist and conductor André Rieu plays to his fans at the 3 Arena while cruise ship AIDAaura conducts its own tour of the Capital at the weekend.
Both André Rieu & AIDAaura were touring the city on Saturday 14th & Sunday 15th, both revisiting after a long absence of concerts & cruises caused by the Covid pandemic, thankfully all returning to normal in 2022. The concerts had originally been part of his 2020 tour.
Cruises ships visiting Dublin in 2022 are currently only given cruise 18 berth along the East Link toll bridge due to port works, or outbased at Dun Laoighare, AIDAaura is the largest ship this year so far & what a beauty with its amazing graphics.
AIDAaura had come down from Belfast & continued on from Dublin to Portree in Scotland.
André Rieu had flown in with his orchestra on private KlasJet Boeing 737-500 LY-FLT before returning to his native Maastricht, The Netherlands before more Wembley dates.

Dublin winter lights 2022
A striking evening encounter with a beautiful all-white neighborhood cat perched high on a brick wall.
The Eagle by night, as the USCG settles down for the evening, a gentle warm breeze up the River Liffey on her last evening in the capital before sailing to London, England.
The USCG Eagle is on a courtesy visit to Dublin over the weekend. after a three-week sailing from New London, Connecticut – Fort Trumbull, United States under the command of Cpt Matt Meilstrup.
90m long, 9.7km of rigging on board the 70 year old ship, originally constructed in 1936 by the Blohm and Voss Shipyard in Hamburg, Germany, sister ship Gorch Fock which visited Dublin last year.
The ship itself was originally a Nazi-era vessel in the German Navy but was taken by the US as part of war reparations. It has been in operation in the US Coast Guard as a floating classroom since 1946 comprised of a 148 Coast Guard training cadets and about 70 more crew.
It will be in Dublin, Ireland until Tuesday 31st May 2016 & sail to London, England for a crew change & return to the US. It comes to Europe every 5 years. the last time Eagle visited Dublin, Ireland was 1996.

French cruise line company Compagnie du Ponant presents Le Boreal, seen above docked on Dublin's River Liffey, some nice reflections & night lighting over a very calm evening.
Le vie est belle, especially on Le Boreal, with just 132 cabins and suites for 264 passengers and 140 crew members.

Going Dutch in Dublin, the Royal Netherlands Navy HNLMS Rotterdam fills the night sky of Dublin's River Liffey while on a courtesy visit to the city.
Rotterdam is the first navy visit since Covid-19 restrictions in March 2020, another sign of times returning to normal.
Arriving on Saturday 2nd October, berthing at Cruise 18 beside the East Link toll bridge, at 166 meters, it provided great photo opportunities of this gigantic Landing Platform Dock (LPD) amphibious warfare ship, its two landing craft were on display alongside. The ship also features a large helicopter deck & internal hangar.

On a sleepy bank holiday monday morning, just before 10 am, the Dublin Port tug "Beaufort" assists HMS Brocklesby off her berth on Sir John Rogersons Quay & down the River Liffey.
HMS Brocklesby, a Hunt-class mine counter-measures vessel of the British Royal Navy on a courtesy visit to Dublin over the weekend.
Brocklesby is the first naval visitor to Dublin in 2023 & one of the few since covid restrictions since 2020. She is celebrating 40 years in service, her primary purpose is to seek out and neutralise enemy mines using sonar technology, currently under the command of Lieutenant Commander Matthew Teare.
Arriving on Friday 3rd & departing on Monday 6th, which is a new public holiday in Ireland, celebrating Saint Brigid.

This was shot on the roof of the commemorative structure in honor of Bebe Nanaki Ji currently under construction in Sultanpur Lodhi. The building's located right across the really narrow alley from the original house, which currently houses... well, people. I don't know if they're special people or something lol, but people.
Anyway, the well from which Bebe Nanaki Ji used to draw water has been preserved, or at least it still exists, and is located inside the new building. I'm not sure if there will be Maharaj Ji da Saroop or not, but it's a nice two story building plus the top of the roof, and we got to explore it. I'm loving the way they're making it, none of this stupid marble conversion the rest of our beloved Guruduara Sahibs are undergoing =(. I still fail to understand, though, why they're feeling the need to renovate or build entirely new things when they could just preserve the original. It's pissing me off. They could just work on keeping the original house in good condition - I wonder what will happen to it once this project is complete? The way things are looking now, the day doesn't seem too far when people will honestly believe that the new building is where Bebe Nanaki Ji actually once lived.
