El Cementerio Almudena fue construido desde 1846, en los restos del Templo San Agustin que fue destruido a cañonasos.

Se comenta que en el siglo pasado que esa zona era el lugar donde nadie quería llegar (donde serian enterrados, donde intentaban recuperar la razón, donde purgaban penas por haber transgredido las leyes) por que aqui estaba el Cementerio, la Carcel y el Centro de Salud Mental.
