FLOWER / LILY

The Beauty of the Lily Flower

Southampton, Chilworth

01.01.10

Well, this wasn't what I had in mind for my first 365 self portrait. I had planned something that involved props, flash kit, 5D and a tripod… We went out for a walk by the beach and I got this instead. It's got a kind of new year, new start feel to it, so I think this is just right for the 1st Jan 2010. Happy New Year everyone.

Beautiful Lily Flower ;)

The beautiful lilie in East Park. This was taken last summer of 2012. Such a lovely nature! I miss seeing the flowers in East Park.

Day 84

How the hell Im going to enter there?

I think Alice should give me some magic mushrooms.

So, here is my second photo of my new project "It's made for smurfs".

That is basically... kind of obvious.. lot of editing and small people or things in the photos

I think is going to be fun.

I dont know how many photo I will be uploading about this new project of mine but that isnt really important for me now. (:

That sweater makes me look like super fat, not that Im not but it makes me look fatter hahaha.

on Graflex Super-D

I'm going to take some old photos that were "not so good" and in need of much better editing than I did back then and get funky with them. Should be a fun project since I have a lot of photos.

Another week, another knitting project (or so it seems).

After blooming, when the flower petals drop off, the seedhead that remains is also attractive.

Southampton, 5 Handel Rd, 28 Park View.

We went to an antiques show in Elora today and on the way there, came upon a wind farm that we had no idea even existed. It is located on the north side of HWY#89, just west of Shelburne, Ontario. (Melancthon Township) It was pouring rain but I could not pass up the opportunity to snap a few pictures. These are in colour, but it is hard to tell in the horizontal image. They are remarkably open for access and I could have walked right up to several of them. When the weather is better, I think I would like to go back for some additional pictures.

Today, the top of the blades almost disappeared into the clouds. They are so large that they feel somewhat threatning and I must say, approaching them for the first time. even if they were not turning, was a bit unnerving.

The following is from the company web site. (These things will cost almost $2,000,000 each according to their numbers)

"Melancthon I is the first phase of the Melancthon Wind Project, a wind farm in the south part of Melancthon Township. This project will have an installed capacity of 67.5 megawatts (MW) of renewable power. Melancthon I will employ 45 1.5 MW GE wind turbines that have been distributed over roughly 2,500 acres in MelancthonTownship.

Melancthon II is the second phase of the Melancthon Wind Project, where phase I is currently nearing commercial operation. Melancthon II will consist of 88, 1.5 MW wind turbines that will generate an estimated 350,000 MWh per year of renewable electricity – enough to power 50,000 households. The anticipated capital cost of the project is $265 million. Pending regulatory approvals and financing, construction is scheduled to commence in the spring of 2006, with commercial operation expected in the spring of 2007."

This picture marks the beginning of a new project for me. I am going to attempt to take a new photo worthy of posting to Flickr every single day this year. If I get behind or feel the quality suffers just so I can post something, I will can the project.

I am starting the project today with Cheyenne - the pup whose parents I spent some time with today. Starting the first day of the year with friends is the only way to do it. :-)
