This is back to my current project - taking objects from their normal location and putting them into a new home. For those who know Cardiff this is normally in the centre of all the shops and restaurants and the city Library.... It was heavy to move !

This pier was at the same location as the pier in my previous post. Had to get a shot of this one though, had some nice glassy reflections coming of the water from the pier after the waves had rolled over it. Thanks for viewing :) .. comments and feedback welcomed.

A New Location, I have been looking for new locations over the past week or so and a few days ago i discovered this place on my way home from work. Its a small village that has 2 or 3 fields than contain loads of different small groups of trees, all that are begging to be photographed. These are the days when you dream about getting snow, or having a really misty morning..I went for my first explore this morning and although i didn't have the conditions i had hoped for, i did get some nice clouds. The clouds took on a slight pink tinge which i have increased a touch in Lighroom.

5.)Autumn: the season when the leaves fall from the trees

Fall is so beautiful around here, I can't even describe it. Gahh, I wish I could just freeze time and enjoy it.

On a day when there was not enough sunlight to muster even the faintest shadow, it looked like the dark grey headland leading up to Binevenagh would be with us all day. We were wrong. The sun did come out for a short time, casting a misty light over Castlerock and Downhill beaches, illuminating the pattern of fields on the hills and the beautiful shoreline rock formations.

The headland is about five miles away, as the crow flies, so I have had to zoom in quite a bit. For Game of Thrones fans, it seems they were back in Ireland last week - filming somewhere here on this headland.

...my sl dream was to have some water to look at so i'm very happy....

Is she too yellow in this? I did not tweak the levels at all...this is how the light was, very golden. I went back and did another version with less warmth, but I think I still like the natural light here. Please give me your opinion....this is one of those things I always struggle with!

Not sure that Flickr is showing this as my main photo today .....

Yesterday morning, 21 October 2017, I went to the Grand Re-opening of the Wild Bird Store here in the city. It is also their 20th Anniversary. Their new location is within my driving comfort zone, so I decided to go.

This beautiful Swainsons's Hawk resides at the Alberta Institute for Wildlife Conservation and accompanied Janis while she gave a talk. It is four years old, has a damaged wing, and serves as a Wildlife Ambassador. Apparently, it gets on well with people and therefore has the right kind of personality to be trained for this important work. Quite a vocal bird, too, as we found out.

"A classic species of the open country of the Great Plains and the West, Swainson’s Hawks soar on narrow wings or perch on fence posts and irrigation spouts. These elegant gray, white, and brown hawks hunt rodents in flight, wings held in a shallow V, or even run after insects on the ground. In fall, they take off for Argentine wintering grounds—one of the longest migrations of any American raptor—forming flocks of hundreds or thousands as they travel." From AllAboutBirds.

There were several other talks, one being given by Myrna Pearman from the Ellis Bird Farm and another by Chris Fisher. Both full of interesting information.

Afterwards, I decided to keep driving north, and called in at the Inglewood Bird Sanctuary. I rarely go there, as it always seems a long way to drive, and I tend not to see many birds when I go on my own. I was happy to see a number of beautiful Wood Ducks and one of the Great Horned Owls, so my visit felt worthwhile.

So I've been ignoring Flickr (aside from uploading) for pretty much the entire week and I feel terrible, especially with all the unanswered flickrmails I have and the thousand prints sitting on my counter waiting to be organized. I promise to get to that soon, now that my hectic week is over...unless, of course, some new dilemna presents itself tomorrow...which really wouldn't surprise me.

Anyway, I didn't get a chance to do the shoot I wanted or to take a picture yesterday because I had plans (I did bring the camera but I forgot a CF card...so that was pointless =P) Therefore I am using this for yesterday.

Finally, I only have 99/98 days left of this project. I still can't believe how far I've come.

Note about the setting: So this location is a small sliver of forest between our house and the neighbors; (Literally about 10 feet wide.) and my dad planted that ground cover about four years ago so it's just begun to take over the small sliver =] And finally the camera was positioned nearly 8 feet above the ground so I wouldn't get my neighbors house in the shot, I also used the mirror for as an extra precaution.

Andie has been away from daycare for exactly 6 months today. She's been spending time with her grandparents in Edmonton showering them with love and in return being lavished with treats.

We were so excited to have her back (at the Bowness location this time) that the spirit got a little contagious causing Bentley and Lucy to shower her with kisses.

Funny thing is that neither Bentley nor Lucy have ever met Andie.

Friday was Cuji's first day at daycare. She comes straight from Croatia and it took her the first 1/2 of the day to get acquainted with the group and it took me the first 1/2 of the day to figure out that I needed the Google Serbian to Dog to English translation tool so we could talk.

Today she's doing much better, playing almost immediately.

Isn't it cool how quickly the young can learn new languages?

Crosby is a tank in the form of a puppy. He has a huge head, huge paws and a rather stubby body and he makes me giggle for reasons I can't explain.

Well, maybe those are the reasons.

(now playing: Come On Home, Franz Ferdinand)

We've set up and incredibly short track in the outside run of the Bowness dog daycare after Bella M approached us with a request from Mugsy, our newest Old English Sheepdog pup.

I guess Mugsy was bragging that he was faster than anyone in the world (I seem to remember doing that as a 4 year old) and Bella said she'd help him prove it.

Mugsy took the outside track and Bella took the inside track.

They asked me to keep track of who won but I was so engaged in trying to take a good action shot that I don't know who finished first.

I guess we'll have to wait until next race day to see who actually is the fastest in the world.

I bet you were expecting a photo of humping, or maybe one of my all time favourite videos.

Sorry to disappoint. Today's hump day model, Willa, is giving her safe for work interpretation of a hump, on a pillow.

I think she's doing a pretty good job and if I can upload this before Noon today I think I might just pull up a pillow and pretend to be a bump.

One of the dogs at the daycare told Willa that, as a new activity, everyone would get an Xbox 360 to play during quiet times so she jumped into her favourite pillow spot and waited.

The sad part is that Willa never bothered to ask me if it was true or even notice that she doesn't have thumbs to use the controller.

I guess, maybe, a Kinect for Dogs would work, if they made them, but the point is that she didn't ask me.

It's now been 4 hours and she hasn't moved. I wonder if I letting her borrow my iPhone to play Angry Birds would be enough to get her off her ass?
