I'm just going to go ahead and say it. I am going to post a lot of photos of Guru in the near future. So, if you don't like adorable white cats with eyes the color of burnished gold... you might have to go through the next week's photos in a hurry.

Muse enjoyed his first snow by romping in the cat enclosure with the snowflakes falling all around him.

ODC - New experience

115 pics in 2015 - Circles (59/115)

This was a new experience for me, first time experimenting with oil and water, think I could get hooked on this! Bit tricky with a macro lens hand held as its difficult to get the image pin sharp there is such a small amount of leeway where the image goes from sharp to out of focus. Will have to spend more time and do it with a tripod maybe.

Also whats the feeling about leaving all the tiny tiny bubbles in?

With a lockdown in place it is against the rules for me to go to places I like to shoot, so I though I would try to create a series called Isolated creativity. The series is not intended to be a diary but a way of documenting thoughts and emotions via photography.

Many of us now find ourselves with time on our hands and lots of people are using it to tryout new things or do the things that they have always meant to. So no matter weather you want to play the trumpet (You might have to isolate a bit more first), bake, sing, take photos or write a book go on, give it a go.

My girlfriend Samiksha and I were able to make it to the amazing Sheik Al Zayed Mosque in Abu Dhabi. There are these pools of water at the foot of these really nice arches that I was super excited to photograph. This ended up being a pretty large panoramic photograph, but the stitching was incredibly difficult to get right. Even now, there are quite a few small imperfections in the stitch, but I am unable to really fix them. As I do more and more of these kinds of pans, it is becoming clear to me that I might need to start investing in a nodal point setup. We will see though. All said and done, this was a great experience and I would love to go back again sometime. Enoy! :)

Taken for Our Daily Challenge - new experience.

Today my daughter is going to start taking piano lessons after school. She has never taken music lessons before except for learning how to play the recorder as part of the school music curriculum. When she announced to her grandparents that she was going to be doing this they immediately offered to give her my mom's electronic keyboard which she wasn't using anymore and to pay for her lessons which was very generous of them. By donating the keyboard she can practice playing the piano at home on her own time. This will certainly be a new experience for her and one that I hope she enjoys.

This is my second photo from Chicago during AAOMS week. I actually shot this prior to the other shot, but I just happened to edit this one second. This should also be the last of my cityscape trend for a little while haha.

Anyway, this was taken during the same AAOMS week in the morning. I was walking around with my co-resident when I said I wanted to see this spot in person. It was a great place, but hard to compose due to a bridge that I was standing on as well as the asymmetric buildings. I came back the next morning well before sunrise during the blue hour, set my camera up and started taking a few photos. I was able to take some during full darkness at night and then a few during the blue hour. It was perfect because the light from sunrise (directly behind me) reflected very well off the tower. This is why the tower is so bright and the foreground is so dark. You can also see this same light on the clouds above the buildings. All said and done, I was able to make it work out pretty well I think. It was a really fun photo to work on and I hope you all enjoy it as well! :)

Once again we are at a juncture where the programmers have forced many and especially those that use the English version and paid for premium pro accounts to use the "New Flickr Experience"

The programmers and leadership at Yahoo (i.e. CEO Marissa Mayer) failed to pay attention to the flickr users back on December 8, 2013 (flickr Black Day) and simply ignored the many fine photographers that made flickr what it was.

For the flickr programmers and especially the staff that monitor the forum please know you have once again ignored the users and pandered to advertisers. Really bad idea for flicker to change the old format. We don't mind changes that make it better, but this time your programmers got it WRONG!!!

We all enjoyed this site the way the format was without having the square pictures to the left of the info. The info blocks do not provide us with many of the options we used to have should be left as it was without messing with them and the photo format should NOT have been changed.

I would encourage everyone to only post Red for the next 36 hours and especially on 6 April and I would also encourage folks to use the flickr and Yahoo forum to ensure their voices are heard load and clear to the programming and corporate staff that their changes are making a once great web site horrible.

Simply Flickr staff and the Yahoo CEO (Ms. Mayer) pandering to the advertisers and not to the millions of great photographers that made (past tense) Flickr what it was. Flickr will go the way of AOL and MySpace if the flickr leadership doesn't listen to the photographers that provide the CONTENT and basis of what this web site was supposed to be. We will find a better platform if you make the changes stick or don't fix the multitude of bugs quickly!!!!!!!

Maybe it really is time to try 500px. What say you? What say flickr staff? What say you Ms. Marissa Mayer (CEO of Yahoo)!!

I love this bridge and so wanted to capture it's beauty without too many tourists. (haha) I dragged my husband and a good friend to the bridge at 5am, they are such good people! Amazing experience and I will treasure this forever! Thank you!

Our Daily Challenge - New Experience - 3/31/15

I shot this last August. This is Elijah and as you might notice by the look on his face he did not love the ocean water and he only tolerated it with his feet safely secured on his mother's legs. LOL

This was shot on Elijah's 2nd birthday. As many people know, I don't photograph people so I am not great at it. Still I love this photo since Elijah is just the most beautiful baby :)

Please follow me on my Facebook page at the following link. I would love to see you there!!!

1 year old kitty....never been in the snow before. I think she liked it! She dug around in the snow a little and chased after some leaves. Fun to watch them explore and experience something new for the first time! :}

ODC ~ New Experience for Me 03.31.15 ~ Online Romance

hello there everybody I hope you all are having a spectacular week just like I am!

I just realized that about a year ago (august 26), I took a photo involving fire. hmm.

p.s. no sophia's were harmed in the making of this photo :)

Kayaking ever. I went with friends on the Kickapoo River and I am hooked, it was awesome.

I've canoed many times, but never did this. So much more fun with you don't always have to grab a second person!

My wife asked me what today's challenge was, I told her, she smiled and then got the ironing board and iron out and then some of my clothes that have to be ironed!

"There you are ... a new experience, Brian!" "You're kidding!" I said.

Our Daily Challenge ~ New Experience ....

Thanks to everyone who views this photo, adds a note, leaves a comment and of course BIG thanks to anyone who chooses to favourite my photo .... thanks to you all.

I'm sorry I've missed seeing so many of your photos over the past couple of weeks. The wedding on the 25th went well, in spite of the threat of torrential rains. I took more than 1800 photos and am now spending my entire days sorting through them and then doing the necessary editing. I think I will end up keeping about 1200. Just finished editing number 420, so I still have a way to go.

I hope everyone is doing well. I look forward to visiting you as soon as I can.

Now before you say anything negative, I ordered this dish out of choice, when I was in the city of Hanoi, Vietnam.

To continue my theme of exploration I felt it was important to emphasise that trying things outside your comfort zones can be a valuable lesson.

After all, isn't travelling meant to broaden the mind? That is one of my utmost favourite things about travel. One can experience new cultures, new people, new opinions, sights, sounds and flavours. It really can develop you as a person, but you have to let it do this, by being open to new experiences.

Now this dish was a mango, papaya, chilli and cricket salad. The crickets themselves were deep-fried I believe, giving them a smoky taste and a light dry crispy texture.

They were actually very tasty, and whilst they are not a dietary staple of mine, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to the broad minded of you.
