John Vanek's 1987 Volkswagen Jetta GLI, back from the dead, after lots of restoration on his end. The car now sports a fresh coat of Atlas Grey Metallic paint over the bodywork that was done, a full Recaro inteior, some Kamei hood scoops, Zender sport wheels, full stainless Bosal exhaust, and a 2.0 ABA motor with a Neuspeed SC and a handful of other bolt on goodies. The best part is the car isn't done yet, he's changing it up as we speak and it'll have even more period correct and rare parts when he's done.

John's mk2 Jetta project car that started out being used as a dumpster behind a building before he got his hands on it. He swapped the interior, fixed the body himself, had a hand from a friend re-spraying it, then installed a handful of awesome parts and is now in the midst of an ABA swap with a Neuspeed supercharger (which he's hoping to finish by H2oi).

Bought a new type dipstick as the old plastic model is prone to breaking, which is a disaster.
The length is a bit different, which I will need to take into account when performing an oil measurement.

This was just after I started cleaning up from shooting here, I grabbed my (awesome) little x100s and snapped a natural light shot with everything out.
The car may look nearly stock at first glance, but as you look closer
you'll start to notice the little details: The massive Stoptech brakes
looming out from behind ultra-light forged wheels from Neuspeed, the
finely tuned suspension from KW, and the Golf R Euro Racing seats.
Its these little details that start to give away that this isn't your
ordinary MKV R32. Its been purpose-built for one thing: the track.
The car started life as a 2008 MKV R32. Owned by and older gentleman
who just drove it too and from work. In April of 2010 Jesse saved it
from its boring previous life. The modifications started small, some
interior trim pieces here, an ECU reflash there. But in May of 2011
in a small shop deep in the woods of Connecticut a dream was about to
come true. On a warm spring afternoon 4 guys sat around wondering
what an R32 with a 6-speed manual would be like to drive? One of them
joked: "if you're going that far, why not toss in a 3.6 liter VR6
while you're at it?" And so it was done.
The guys at Innovative Motor Sports and United Motorsports worked
tirelessly over the next 9 months to make the impossible, possible.
Sourcing a 3.6L motor from a wrecked Passat and essentially building a
transmission from the group up the hardware was built and installed.
While Innovative tracked down the parts United Motorsports was busying
building custom software to make all the hardware play together
nicely. The end result is nothing sort of amazing: the first US Spec
MKV Golf R36 6MT.
one inside, one on the roof :)
Yes i know the car is very dirty.
No, it doesn't improve the aerodynamics having that massive sofa on the roof, but being slammed on neuspeeds makes it look cool.
JDM 1995 Prelude, Accord rear lip, Magnaflow exhaust, JDM visors, Moonroof visor, Front lip, Neuspeed springs
cleaner than it was.. and loaded up for another trip to the tip. i know it would be cooler if it was a vintage longboard..
