Independence, Kansas: The ghost of William Inge and his time in this city haunted me today. Listening to one actress in the play mention, in her lines, the "Memorial Hall" where they crown the "Neewollah Princess," and then, earlier that morning, actually being in Memorial Hall looking through Neewollah costumes to possibly find things to use in the show was fantastic. I feel like I am in a reality show about costuming a famous play inthe very spot it supposedly takes place. As I told the director after rehearsal today, I will be name-dropping this show for the rest of my life!!
