Lots of visitors stopped by in September and had some fun with the wood chipper!

Barber building in Marmarth, ND, built in 1918. Per the town's website (link below), the building was first built in 1909 but burned down and was replaced in 1918. The lower floor was occupied by businesses, while the upper floor was an opera house. The town of Marmarth was once one of the larger cities in the area and developed due to the railroad which still runs on the north side of town. www.marmarth.org

Purchased a Neutral Density Filter (density 8) for my 24-70 2.8. Shot a few portraits for a high school tennis team. Really neat clouds over Dallas, something that gets rarer the longer spring and summer progresses.

Nothing unusual at Minot North Dakota as there is usually something going on for rail traffic as a BNSF Westbound grain train passes the BNSF-SOO transfer which is backing onto the CP Portal Subdivision.

A bit of experimenting combining my 10 and 6 stop ND filters.

Just testing some Hitech ND filters:

Centre - shows the equivalent photo without filters, exposed for the foreground, showing loss of detail in the sky - a classic situation.

Right - standard ND plus graduated ND (possibly 0.9 for each - I didn't take notes). Nice effect to bring detail into the clouds, but a disappointing purple colour cast!

Left - same as the right, but converted to black & white, so the colour cast is not visible.

Looks like some research and experimentation will be needed on reducing that colour cast! Would welcome comments from anyone who has experienced similar issues.
