The sun was not te oe seen at this point, which is why I chose this spot, which would be no good had the sun been out!
This and another classic Northampton nus were provided short rides in conjunction with 'Transport Day' which was being held at the nearby Abington Park Museum.

Nottingham City Transport are making some major changes to its network on Sunday 21st June 2026.
One route that is getting a major change is Navy line 3 which will no longer run, with parts of the route replaced by changes to other services.
Between Clifton and Ruddington, the 3 will be replaced by an extension of Green 9, which will run every 30 minutes throughout Monday to Saturday daytimes. The 9 will provide Ruddington with a much-requested direct bus link to West Bridgford Centre.
Silverdale will be served by new Grey 55, retaining the hourly daytime link to Clifton Centre, as well as new links to QMC and Arnold.

Superb Northampton Corporation Transport Crossley DD42/ Roe, no. 146 (VV 9146) is seen turning from Grove Road into Clare Street, outside the Swan and Helmet pub. 146 was working a journey on the Northampton Heritage Bus Trail, linking various venues which were open as part of national Heritage Open Days 2017 weekend. This detour through the back streets was to take in the Playhouse Theatre, a small venue housed in an old coffin warehouse along Clare Street.
