As many times as I have walked past this place (from across the street, where I took the photo), I never noticed until recently the beauty salon is misspelled to say "saloon." We all know what saloons are -- or were, especially if you've seen enough westerns. When I saw the one written in cardboard over a year ago, I gave that person the benefit of the doubt, knowing that for many people who live in Glendale and have businesses, English is not their first language. But this is very odd. There is no such thing as spell-check for sign painting. And if the owner thought they were being clever, or thought they were right, it depends upon their clientele. That is to say, if no one else who has done business there has said anything, it probably means nothing will be done about it anytime soon.
Also, the place is still closed, despite many businesses in L.A. County being reopened. Some places, like Pasadena, are allowing everyone to reopen. But it could also be a canary-in-the-coalmine situation. If things get bad again, businesses might have to shut down again until the line is flattened for good.
