The Plaza de España, designed by Aníbal González, was a principal building built on the Maria Luisa Park's edge to showcase Spain's industry and technology exhibits. González combined a mix of 1920s Art Deco and 'mock Mudejar', and Neo-Mudéjar styles. The Plaza de España complex is a huge half-circle with buildings continually running around the edge accessible over the moat by numerous bridges representing the four ancient kingdoms of Spain. In the centre is the Vicente Traver fountain. By the walls of the Plaza are many tiled alcoves, each representing a different province of Spain.

Today the Plaza de España mainly consists of Government buildings. The Seville Town Hall, with sensitive adaptive redesign, is located within it. The Plaza's tiled 'Alcoves of the Provinces' are backdrops for visitors portrait photographs, taken in their own home province's alcove. Towards the end of the park, the grandest mansions from the fair have been adapted as museums. The farthest contains the city's archaeology collections. The main exhibits are Roman mosaics and artefacts from nearby Italica.

The Plaza de España has been used as a filming location, including scenes for the 1962 film Lawrence of Arabia. The building was used as a location in the Star Wars movie series — Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace (1999) and Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones (2002) — in which it featured in exterior shots of the City of Theed on the Planet Naboo. It also featured in the 2012 film The Dictator.

So me and Graeme were both really excited for MELO 2017 but it happened at a really busy time of year for both of us, so neither of us got to enter. One of the main reasons I was excited is there was an odd chance I could face off with Graeme, which sounded super fun. So instead we did this build off! :D

The theme we decided on was Theed, inspired by the new EA Battlefront game and the size limit was 20x20.

Check Graeme's build out here: www.flickr.com/photos/graemebuilds/36778409936/in/datepos...

So Graeme's old account Graeme.Straughn got deleted and his new account is GraemeBuilds. Go re-follow him!

To decide who wins the build off you guys get to vote in the comments. However only votes will be on my photo due to Graeme's account not having as many followers any longer.

Anyways this was a super fun build to make and I'm quite happy with how it came out!

The Plaza de España is a plaza in the Parque de María Luisa (Maria Luisa Park), in Seville, Spain. It was built in 1928 for the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929. It is a landmark example of Regionalism Architecture, mixing elements of the Baroque Revival, Renaissance Revival and Moorish Revival (Neo-Mudéjar) styles of Spanish architecture.

In 1929, Seville hosted the Ibero-American Exposition World's Fair, located in the celebrated Maria Luisa Park (Parque de María Luisa). The park gardens were designed by Jean-Claude Nicolas Forestier. The entire southern end of the city was redeveloped into an expanse of gardens and grand boulevards.

The centre of it is Parque de María Luisa, designed in a "Moorish paradisical style", with a half mile of tiled fountains, pavilions, walls, ponds, benches, and exhedras; lush plantings of palms, orange trees, Mediterranean pines, and stylized flower beds. Numerous buildings were constructed in the park to provide spaces for the exhibition.

The plaza was used as a set for the video of Simply Red's song "Something Got Me Started".

I instantly fell in love with Mando's customized N-1 starfighter after watching the Book of Boba Fett so I rebuilt my original Naboo N-1 starfighter MOC.

My favorite features of this build:

1. The core design is the same as my original yellow version.

2. It can fit the Mandalorian with his jetpack on in the cockpit, and Grogu can fit on his laps. (I gave up putting Grogu in the dome because I want to use the same design as the yellow version.)

3. The body of an astromech droid can fit in the belly of the ship.

I am building it in real life but some of the pieces are not available in this color yet but hopefully they will be available soon.

Andalusia is located in southern Spain and covers an area of 8 provinces. Andalusia is the second largest autonomous region in Spain. Beautiful Andalucía, the land of olives, oranges, sunflowers, beautiful mountain ranges and valleys, nice white mountain villages with beautiful squares, is a bridge between two continents, Africa and Europe, and is the point where the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea meet. There is something for everyone in Andalusia, from culture to beautiful terraces, sights, long beaches, beautiful inland areas with beautiful reservoirs, mountains and nice villages to visit. Seville is the capital of the province of Andalusia. It has a colorful history dating back to the Romans. You will find beautiful historic buildings, but also tapas bars where they serve the tastiest dishes. And of course not to forget the flamenco. In 1929, as part of the Spanish World Exhibition, among other things, the Plaza de España was constructed: a crescent-shaped square with the Pavilion de España situated on it. There are fifty murals on the façade that refer to the fifty Spanish provinces. In front of it are benches, which are eagerly used. The Plaza de España is a classic place to go with the family on Sundays. The majority of these buildings are used today by the government such as the town hall. The square also served as a film set for Naboo in the 2002 film Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones.

Chibi Naboo N-1 built for TBB's Chibi Micro Contest.

I basically took the sleekest ship I could find and made it chibi. I'm also really happy with how the photography turned out on this one!

For the next 28 days I will be posting random Snoke theories.

Today, QUI-GON JINN IS SNOKE CONFIRMEDD!!1!!!

Qui Gon was burned at a funeral which is why he has so many scars! Confirmed! He got away and went back to Naboo to get Darth Maul’s lightsaber which he used to kill the Jedi conFIIRMEDD! He then stayed alive for decades! And he lost his hair because of the fire!

The Naboo N-1 Starfighter has always been one of my favorite ships in Star Wars. So when it appeared in the Book of Boba Fett, I instantly knew I had to build it! I started with Inthert's model from Brickvault and made some modifications to fit its run-down look in the series. Then one thing led to another and I started building this scene by bending walls out of 1x2 bricks.

Contest yada, yada

thanks to Grant for editing this pic even though I didn't even ask.

This take on the N-1 was inspired by the wonderful little LEGO ships built by Waffles (his A-wing) and Inthert (his N-1 and Air Drifter). Both builders used the Ducati windshield to great effect.

This was originally going to be silver like Din’s ship as it appears on screen, but I couldn’t find an aesthetically pleasing solution to hide the Red of that windscreen element. So I embraced the red colour scheme!

I used the N-1 as it appears in the Book of Boba Fett as a reference but going Red meant I could take some liberties with the design.

I built this model from scratch but I kept going back to Inthert’s version of the N-1 for pointers as it is in my mind, the definitive LEGO version of the ship. His design influence is clear in the nose and tail of my model.

After several months of sporadic building, I’ve finally finished my Battlefront 2-inspired project set on Naboo.

When starting work on this I thought I’d be able to get it up on Flickr within several weeks if I committed to enough building time, however by late July I realised that it was going to be a while before it was done. With term starting up in September, I decided to go all-out and give myself until before term started to finish the build.

This will probably be my last post for the foreseeable future, with workload set to take up numerous hours, but I’m glad that I’ve ended with something I’m happy with.

The Plaza de España ("Spain Square") is a plaza in the Parque de María Luisa (Maria Luisa Park), in Seville, Spain.

Today the buildings of the Plaza de España have been renovated and adapted for use as offices for government agencies. The central government departments, with sensitive adaptive redesign, are located within it. Toward the end of the park, the grandest mansions from the fair have been adapted as museums. The most distant museum contains the city's archaeology collections.

The Plaza de España has been used as a filming location, including scenes for Lawrence of Arabia (1962). The building was used as a location in the Star Wars movie series Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones (2002) — in which it featured in exterior shots of the City of Theed on the Planet Naboo. It also featured in the 2012 film The Dictator. The 2023 Netflix series, Kaos, will also feature scenes filmed at the Plaza.

Here is the first picture of my newest moc. It was inspired by a lot of different pictures of Naboo and also pictures of different architecture I would see in friends posts when they traveled around Europe.

This is probably the biggest moc I’ve ever built. It is modular and comes apart in seven sections. It was also probably the most difficult thing I’ve had to build. It required a lot of planning and setup. I needed to make sure the buildings would all fit correctly on the two platforms. I also would rebuild a lot of different parts because they didn’t fit the whole aesthetic. I rarely ever rebuild stuff when building MOCs.

I’m very proud of this one and think it’s quite beautiful to look at. I took the minifigures off for this main picture because they were too distracting.

I hope you enjoy!

It might not be a very faithful rendition, but I always wanted to build this scene. Also, it feels good to be building some Star Wars stuff again. Stay tuned for another build coming soon.
