Ahu Akivi and the stars:
The Ahu Akivi has a special connection to the stars. Its construction was carried out following a unique orientation that allows it to connect with the stars and thus obtain data from different times of the year.
Its orientation (from north to south) allowed the natives to know the changes of seasons and based on these data, to have clarity of the most suitable moments for the harvests.
How did they identify the stations?
During the spring equinox (on September 21), the face of the moai points directly towards the place where the sun sets. If the sun hid where the Ahu Akivi giants looked, the natives knew that spring was beginning.
Now, for the fall equinox (on March 21), the sun changes position and begins to hide just behind the moais. When this happened, the natives knew that there was a new change of season.
As a last piece of information I tell you that the best time to go to see this area is during the afternoon, when the sun is setting. If you follow my advice, you will have a beautiful and unique panoramic view of the sun saying goodbye to the day, just in front of the 7 moai statues and illuminating the stone giants with its last rays.
Are there any mythical beasts which aren't simple pastiches of nature? Centaurs, minotaurs, unicorns, griffons, chimeras, sphinxes, manticores, and the like don't speak well for the human imagination. None is as novel as a kangaroo or starfish.

The weather stated thunderstorms, solid cloud cover, and just awful weather to dominate the landscape for the next few days. Yesterday, while I was getting comfortable sitting around the house irritated that I wasn't going to get out the storm system broke, and while my first thought was it would be just for a few minutes, the weather amended itself and said it would be partly cloudy with a chance of storms. So, I left the house at 4pm and headed out into the mountains. At first I thought I would be lucky to get anything, but the longer I drove the more the sky broke for me. Though that wasn't the only issue at hand, in the peaks act like a cloud forest, so I was driving in and out of a dense wall of clouds through the various peaks and valleys until I broke through at last. I hadn't intended to drive from the end of the parkway to Craggy, but as a photographer, it's my job to chase the light. This valley stretched off into the distance, different mountains, and a road in the very rear of the image. I sat up there in high winds, high humidity getting soaked to the bone. Other photographers came and went, but I stayed, waiting for my perfect light... this is the best of the shots I got, I hope you enjoy.
ISO: 160
Aperture: f11
SS: 1/30
Focal: 22mm
No filters, sitting atop a wall in the one place my view wasn't obstructed by the trees bellow, and I decided to do a 5 shot exposure bracket here to try and get the best of the dynamic range.
My favorite shots can be purchased here:

shot quickly...not the best quality, but it was a fun shot!
for those that ask: Is that real? or is it edited? ... this was taken while driving (i wasn't driving) and is a real cloud formation that appeared. It has only been cropped and some levels were changed to create more contrast...that's it.
nature did the rest! :)

Don't be afraid to be weak
Don't be too proud to be strong
Just look into your heart my friend
That will be the return to yourself
The return to innocence
The return to innocence
If you want, then start to laugh
If you must, then start to cry
Be yourself don't hide
Just believe in destiny
Don't care what people say
Just follow your own way
Don't give up and use the chance
To return to innocence
That's not the beginning of the end
That's the return to yourself
The return to innocence

Beautiful swans swimming in the Vltava River at sunset with view of the Prague city and the Charles Bridge.
Prague’s swans are photographed almost as much as some of the monuments, statues, cathedrals and buildings throughout the city.
This was shot at a slower speed (6 seconds).
♥ Thank you very much for your visits, faves, and kind comments ♥

One of the grandest – and most photographed – landmarks in the United States, Monument Valley is a sprawling, sandy preserve that spans the border between Arizona and Utah, bathing the region in rich red hues. Dominated by crimson mesas and surreal sandstone towers – some as tall as 1,000 feet – the area is also known for dramatic, mesmerizing lighting, with the sun illuminating the towers and casting long shadows on the valley floor.
Located inside the Navajo Nation – one of the largest Native American tribes in the United States – Monument Valley is around four hours northeast of Flagstaff, near the Four Corners area.
Monument Valley provides perhaps the most enduring and definitive images of the American West. The isolated red mesas and buttes surrounded by empty, sandy desert have been filmed and photographed countless times over the years for movies, adverts and holiday brochures. Because of this, the area may seem quite familiar, even on a first visit, but it is soon evident that the natural colors really are as bright and deep as those in all the pictures. The valley is not a valley in the conventional sense, but rather a wide flat, sometimes desolate landscape, interrupted by the crumbling formations rising hundreds of feet into the air, the last remnants of the sandstone layers that once covered the entire region.
Thank you for your comments.

Starting a new project to build 20 mythical creatures. Will be in two parts so they can fit together with other mythical creatures to make a new one.
This one is a JPG processed in Aperture and Topaz Denoise AI.
It was a fast moving, bright aurora and despite the reduced exposure time it required, it looks a bit blurry.
The Raw image shows completely green and I have not been able to process it anywhere close to the colors the OOC JPG shows. So in this case the in-camera processing worked great. I still had to clean-up the snow, hillsides and distant clouds from the green reflection.
This is such a mythical fantasy sim. Will come back again when I get some more fantasy themed outfits. ≧◡≦
