lukas has had bronchitis for four days now, yesterday was the first morning he woke up without fever, and his cough had gotten a lot better as well. when he saw the snow and sunshine outside, he wanted to go sleighing so badly, so we wrapped the boys up and played outside for half an hour. they had so much fun!!

SX-70 Sonar Onestep
Third Man Records Yellow Duochrome Film
So, I lost 3 shots before this one in learning that pretty much all my SX-70's are dead too. But my SX -70 Sonar still works!

The crystallization isn't so apparent in the actual print; must be the way I'm scanning that really brings it out. If anyone has any scanning tips for this stuff, do let me know.
Polaroid SX-70
Impossible Project PX70 Instant Film
and some bokeh! :)
Kind of reminds me of this shot I took of T when he was a few months old.
Confession:
Yes Brody was sitting up in this shot but not on his own.
If you look on the left side of his shoulder you can see where I cloned out my friends arm.
I thought for sure that it was obvious but a lot of people have been emailing me and saying how they can't believe he is sitting up at just a month old

This is my son Jason who hates getting his picture taken. This was shot this morning at the Remembrance Day Ceremony in Holyrood Newfoundland. I'm posting this for his sister who is fiercely proud of her brother as is everyone in his family but she is first in line.
When I first uploaded this photo, I was really bummed out that it was so blurry, caught in mid-motion; I loved the expression, the stance, the composition. "This could've been a great portrait," I thought.
But I still loved this shot, even in all its edgy blurry strangeness. Then I realized that it's a pretty good representation of being eleven, which is, when you think about it, an edgy, blurry, strange age -- not yet a teenager, but not quite a child. Eleven is sort of a twitchy waystation for puberty, a time when cheeky babyfaces slowly take on the angles and planes of impending maturity, and the push/pull of "I need you / leave me alone" begins to gradually emerge.
My son's eleventh birthday was a celebration of friends and cake and giggly goofiness and pure childhood joy; but just for a second my camera captured this tiny glimpse of the young man he is waiting to become.
