I went to a night photography event with Dan Haefner. He is a fantastic teacher with a lot of cool tricks. He was so generous and kind he provided one of his own fabulous RAW photos for the editing portion of the class. This is my result. Now if only I could learn to compose this well in the dark. ;-)

"It's always the smaller pieces that make the bigger picture."
This is part of an ongoing series I am making. This is essentially me fixing everything around me when I should be working on myself. This idea came from a personal struggle I dealt with.
Growing up, my childhood was not the easiest. It was the farthest thing from easy. And because of that, I had to take a step back and work on me. I thought once I got away from the situation that I somehow "won" or "overcame it" but that isn't the case. I still had emotional scarring and still do today.
This is what I am trying to depict here and why the puzzle pieces and puzzle holes aren't the same sizes. They are not supposed to fit like life. Not everything in life fits perfectly together like a jigsaw puzzle. As for me attempting to fix everything around me, that is me trying to get a grip or some kind of control on my life and it's not working.
