The Mazda Miata, also known as the MX5 or the Eunos Roadster, was first released in 1989 and has since become one of the most popular and beloved sports cars of all time, and the best-selling two-seat convertible sports car in history. Although it may not be the fastest car ever made, there are few cars more fun to drive than a Miata. The Miata has made such a huge impact on the car community that I figured it would make a perfect candidate for a LEGO Ideas set! This model is of the first generation (NA) Miata and features opening doors, hood, and trunk, as well as working pop-up headlights (one of the original Miata's most iconic features) and a detailed model of the engine under the hood.
