As promised, here's the colour version of my previous upload (please see the first comment). I'm a bit late today, too, because I had to fix my Lightroom installation first. I had this wonderful plan of transferring the catalogue to an external hard drive, so I can use it both on my desktop and my new laptop and keep it synchronized on both machines, but something went very wrong, and I ended up with damaged catalogues on both machines plus I lost all editing work I'd done on my laptop on this image last night. Sigh. Luckily I could fix both installations, but I still have to go trouble hunting and see what went wrong exactly, because it really would be so convenient to use one external hard drive for both computers. Maybe it's the fact that my PC still runs on Win 10, while the laptop uses Win 11 – and yes, all you Apple users out there, I know what you will say now: that this would never happen on a Mac ;)
Either way, here's the colour version. It's much wider than the GR III version (18 mm vs. 28 mm), and there are two birds (please press Z) in it as a bonus, too ;) I did some sliding, too, of course, first in Color Efex where I used the preset "HDR-like" as a starting point, and tweaked it to my liking (I've added the filter "Reflector Efex Gold" to brighten the foreground, for instance), next in LR, and I hope you like this version as well. While little sister Pips somehow managed to bend the original rule of No-Going-Through-Fences, and is off down the creek bank stalking water dragons, Miss Woolly appears to be obeying instruction.
But really, she's just not into rushing around, trying to round up things like a manic collie, no offense to all our sweet collie pals..
Being a guardian dog, she prefers to mind me and the car.

Unusual that the marbled white stayed on the knapweed after a burnet moth joined it - must have been a particularly good bit of knapweed.
I've design SL Maternity clothes in SL for over 5 years ... I needed a break LOL.. so will be introducing my Spellbound series this fall. For now... just having fun with photography. Cheers!!

Here we see Miss Woolly charging about up at the farm, where she considers herself in charge of everything that moves.
The neighbouring hill occasionally has dingos come out of the forest there, so her routine is to rush to that side of the property to show her dominance and make sure they know she is in residence for the day.
"You can all keep away now I'm here!"
A big difference to the last pic posted.
All alert and fluffed up, ready to put on a good barking performance, and to show who's boss around the place.
Being a livestock guardian, she would consider this her job.
Running her own race, for May's project for 12 Months for Dogs group.

CP's Refinery Row runner lights up the background on the approach to Barnet as a bright yellow KCS AC44 overhauled for maintenance of way service sits in the back track at the marine park on a late rainy evening. Always cool to see something parked in this rarely used track, especially a train.

After coming down the switchback route from the quarry in Websterville and stopping in Barre to pick up more cars Vermont Rail System's Washington County Railroad crew is headed west at about MP 2.4 on the Montpelier and Barre Division with more than a dozen loads of granite armor rock from the Northeast Materials quarry trailing green GMRC 804 (a GP9r blt. Oct. 1955 as NW 13) and red VTR 206 (a GP38-3 206 blt. Oct. 1969 as SOU 2718 and originally a high nosed straight GP38).
The train is curling along beside Barre Street on the nearly mile and a half stretch of trackage which was rebuilt on the former Montpelier and Wells River Railroad right of way west from Barre Transfer four years ago. This grade had been bereft of rails for 55 years when trains returned in 2021, and this was my first time photographing it. Interestingly the former CV trackage including both bridges was not ultimately abandoned and was actually tied in with switches on both ends and is used as a storage track called appropriately enough the 'Old Main'. This crew will pause just ahead and shove the whole string of cars off onto the old CV main where they will temporarily be left while the crew runs light engine down to Montpelier Junction to pull empties from the NECR interchange and make room for the outbound loads.

Orange river canyon under the milky way. The moonlight off to the left required quite a bit of work to crop and subdue.
