Chernobyl or Fukushima? Is that where this little guy has been based on the rosy glow and the mutated beak? I was busy cleaning the vacuum to mitigate my wife’s complaints about its abysmal sucking capabilities and would have completely missed this glowing creature had it not been for my son-in-law’s ardent lookout activities. At first, I was torn between Pine Grosbeak or Purple Finch but the beak had me in fits. So, after some diligent research on Google (while hoping I would not find anything and therefore be able to contribute to a new discovery in the birding world), I finally settled on White-winged Crossbill also known as the Two-barred Crossbill which refers to the two white bars on his wings.

Oh, and in case you are wondering, the vacuum is fixed and after complete disassembly of the head and re-assembly (no spare parts left over) works like new. Way to start the new year!

Some people call these things lifers but I use a different designation for these occurrences “new to camera, lens and me” as in NTCLAM.

Mutated, ugly and more organic in appearance, these rahi are altered versions of the creatures seen in 2001, altered by Mahri nui's mutagen in 2007.

It was an interesting proposal to work with, especially when using pieces like Pridak's head which I felt at the time would be difficult to use in the figure.

as much as possible I wanted to achieve a fearsome appearance, which was close to the illustrated concept.

enjoy it!!

One of the many dangerous mutated Rahi skulking around the ocean floor, the Pit Mantis Shrimp is often looking for a fight. Especially with any rivals that can put up a good boxing match like the Tarakava or Keras. Though usually seen alone, some Matoran report seeing what looks like an organized tournament between these Rahi for, seemingly, who is the best fighter. Why this is done or what victory means is unknown.

Built for the Spare Part community’s challenge Shopping Spree. We were given a list of sets, prices, and an imaginary $100 budget to spend in order to build something out of the combination. But regardless of how much you spent within that $100, you were always guaranteed a GWP 2006 Good Guy.

For my build, I purchased 4 Takadox sets, 2 Chirox sets, 1 Cendox, 1 Defilak, and of course the GWP Good Guy for a total of $85.

Not of this World... their message to us mutating / evolving Earthlings, Dump Trump for the sake of the Human Race and put your heads in a better place.

In the depths of Onu-metru, the mining region where the Matoran work themselves to death in work camps, lies a dark place, a lab where Rahi are corrupted, mutated and enhanced in the name of the power in place.

Tehutti, the head of the scientific division of the regime, run these horrific centers from which soulless monsters come out, becoming living weapons for the dictator of Metru Nui.

When he was given the opportunity to run experiments on a Matoran, he didn’t hesitate for a second, and the poor Orkahm became one of the victims of the mad scientist.

This MOC was made for the #Bionicle20ans collaborative project.

As Bionicle turns 20 this year, the Bionifigs community will celebrate these two decades of biological chronicles through all of 2021.

Each month will be dedicated to a year in the history of Bionicle - in April we focus on 2004.

wounds that seem the same over the years but mutate, but change, but hurt in a different way each day. They don't heal. They only change.

'The mutated trees don't look like much but many of them are over 300 years old! The lack of minerals in the soil stunt the trees growth and instead of growing up, they grow out and branch to the side.

This is a delicate environment please stay on the boardwalk to limit human contact with this interesting ecosystem.'

i posted this one colored in photoshop, but i think this is better

Alright. This is my gentlemen for MLB. It is made to look like my avatar on YouTube and Flickr. The head was originally a 2x2 yellow brick with half of the face painted light green to show his mutated side. The body was a Joker body with the "tie" painted red instead of green. I also painted on a smiley face pin because I always thought it looked a bit creepier (IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH WATCHMEN!). The legs are painted black with some white on the bottom. Leave your thoughts below. Hope this is "classy" enough.

Day 156 - Post-Apoc mutated Wanderer:

Well, I do have more military figures coming, but I am really swamped with finishing my dissertation, several performances of the opera The Grapes of Wrath by Ricky Ian Gordan, and my other work - I have been havign trouble finding times to take pictures and get figures up! Regardless, here's a little figure I pieced together - the jacket was made by myself (although I'm not happy with how they are turning out yet). I'm really happy with this weapon mod also!

Thanks!

A very cool light mural (constantly mutating and changing in a long loop) and the reflecting pool on the Gene Leahy Central Park Mall, which is one of three riverfront parks in Omaha.

btw, the electric blue (broken up) arch in the upper right corner is this outdoor performance pavilion arch seen up close here, and wider here (with the under-lit wood and concrete seating block array and terraced concrete blocks in a water feature also seen above, shrouded in the dark).
