I'm not certain what her tail did, but Mumma isn't happy with it :-p

Mumma (grey&white) and Raerae took over my life almost 3 months ago, and I am so happy that they did! 😍💕

Misty is the most gorgeous mum and there is so much about her that draws me in.

Australian Magpie (Cracticus tibicen) female

Mumma decided to perch on this branch to watch the kids as they foraged on the ground.

Unfortunately for these two wagtails, a boomslang( snake) was taking the baby chicks

She's feeling comfortable enough with me to start being cheeky :-D

Mumma Bear. Again 😊

Kiros is always smooching up to Misty maybe because if he is near mum, dad can't get mad at him.

It is interesting to see that out of the three cubs, Milo will pick on Kiros over the girls even if it's the girls fault.

Kiros is very respectful and when dadda does get angry or if he senses that he is in a mood he will stay completely out of his way.

Finding them both sleeping on my bed like this 😁😍

Maybe dreaming of flying with the birds - it'd be easier to catch them that way lol

(I tried to pun super 'heroes' with 'hairyoes' but it didn't look right)

Mumma only likes being touched on her terms. Very cat of her, I know. If I pat her too much (which is never enough, for me) or pick her up to snuggle her, she lets me know it's not allowed.

I have been calling her Miss Grumpy Pants, but her new nickname is Mumma Bear, which I think sounds a bit 'nicer' ;-)

Mumma Bear trying to sleep, but I felt like playing with my camera. She opened her eyes briefly, to give me a look, obviously delighted to be woken up 😁

I like that her brown/grey colour is showing better here.

😍😘💕

Mumma Bear having an early morning wash on our neighbors' wood pile - it makes the perfect place to catch the early sun.

Despite the different colour and horns, If I saw Africa and Muriel in a paddock and I didn't know what calf belonged to who, I would be able, without a doubt pick Africa as Muriel's baby.

Africa has her mum's body shape, attitude and even mannerisms.

Misty is doing just a great job as a mumma i sometimes wonder when she has time to sleep.

Not only is she raising the 3 cubs but she is also now teaching Amari the lion way and keeping peace within the whole pride.

She is the glue that makes the pride what it is, so no wonder she looks tired.

Saying that though most afternoons she will have a game with her keeper and chase a ball that is thrown for her.

She really is a cub at heart.

In a garden along our street.

Fledgling Magpie at the base of a gum & struggling to return to the nest. Mumma Magpie didn't like me encrouching on her territory. Hence I'm surprised that I managed to get such a sharp shot, given that I was ducking my head every twenty seconds or so.

Shot taken near Flaxley, South Australia.

Lilacs for all the mothers, aunts, grandparents, big sisters, friends, teachers, neighbours who have mothered children. I salute you!

Happy Mother's Day!

Mumma, my lovely grey girl, enjoying life, but always watchful. Between her and Raerae my house has had more insects, mice, and birds in it, than in the last 5 months. I've been able to rescue most of them, much to my girls disgust.
