This photo is looking up at the siding on what used to be an old house dating back to the 1900's on my family farm. The house was split in half and used as sheds many years ago. Only the front half of the house remains. Inside the old "kitchen" there is still wallpaper on the walls.
Multiple SAR Teams during their CPD session at Cardiff International White Water centre.
The teams involved were,
Wiltshire Search and Rescue
Dorset Search and Rescue
Avon & Somerset Search and Rescue
Hampshire Search and Rescue Dogs
Lowland Rescue Oxfordshire
Severn Area Rescue Association
This was organised and part-funded by SWERA - South West England Rescue Association, with Mountain Rescue England and Wales and Lowland Rescue Using a venue like this means the can practice high risk rescue techniques in a controlled environment.
The event ran across the afternoon and evening, allowing team members to complete various work stations in both light and dark, including:
> Rescue from vehicles in water
> Tethered swim, throwline and reach pole rescues
> 2 and 4 point tethers with a sled
> Boat evacuation using a Hi-line
> Powered Boat Ladder Operations
I tried an experiment last night. Rather than do a single exposure of the moon, I tried many short (1/1600s) exposures, then blending them in CS5. A few minutes earlier I took a single exposure at 1/100s. That to my eye looks sharper though I fancy the rays are clearer in the blended one. Overall a failure, but I think I will try again with perhaps a shorter exposure so the autoalign feature has more to work on.
