Replaced my 1-year old multifunction BW laser with a new color one, and I'm looking for an owner for this awesome workhorse. Comes with a new, unopened toner cartridge. The printer is extremely efficient with toner. I've had the cartridge that it shipped with in the machine since I bought it, and it's never run out (even though it says Low Toner, the print quality hasn't changed).

I tested to scan some negatives today. I don't have a special scanner, or something like that. But I have an, reasonable, new multifunction HP, scanner/printer (WLAN...).
So I just put to strips of negatives on the flatbed and initiated the scan from my pc (Ubuntu).
I just pumped the DPI up to something like 1200, so it took a while to transfer to the computer.
Then I cut out this frame in GIMP and tried to reverse/invert it into an "positive" image. It took some tweaks and turns to get this result (started out as rather pale/low contrast etc).
I'll do a second scan and try to tweak the scanning settings etc. I don't know if you can see it here, but in the larger version (not uploaded) you can see a great deal of artifacts around their faces etc. Not sure on where in the process those was added...
The quality of the photo wasn't that great from the start, but the colors etc is a bit strange. And the darker dots in the spots in the sky bugs me (can be from the negative, but still..)
Any GIMP/Linux (or any other for that mather...) that have any tip on how to get a good result without using a special negative-scanner and/or professional/commercial software? I would be very glad to get some help...
Or do I need to buy a special scanner??

We didn't expect to be impressed by yet another multifunction printer, but Kodak's ESP 5 All-in-One Printer made monkey's out of us anyway. $169.99 just doesn't seem like enough money for a scanner/printer that's happy to work directly from your SD card and comes with its own display to let you edit shots. Normally though, we don't care for inkjet printers because they're slow and expensive to run, so the part that really had appeal was the 30/29 page per minute spec, along with some impressive ink economy figures.

Film d'essai (test film) of my newly arrived (jan. 2022) SLR Minolta X-700 "China" ( assembled in China 1993-1999).
For the picture series, the X-700 body was equipped with its own motor drive MD-1, a MultiFunction back set to the dating (MM/DD/YY) auto mode and a standard lens Minolta MD 50 mm f/1.4. 35 mm. Fujicolor film C200 36 exposures 200 ISO.

The film was developed using the C-41 process then digitalized using a Sony A7 body and a Minolta Slide Duplicator with a Minolta Auto Bellows III with a lens Minolta Bellow Macro Rokkor 50mm f/3.5. During the transfer a daylight produce by a LED lamp was supplemented by a Wratten 80A filter to render the processing more easy in the color temperature correction.

The Arleigh Burke class of guided missile destroyers (DDGs) is the United States Navy's first class of destroyer built around the Aegis Combat System and the SPY-1D multifunction passive electronically scanned array radar. The class is named for Admiral Arleigh Burke, the most famous American destroyer officer of World War II, and later Chief of Naval Operations. The class leader, USS Arleigh Burke, was commissioned during Admiral Burke's lifetime.
These warships were designed as multimission destroyers to fit the antiaircraft warfare (AAW) role with their powerful Aegis radar and surface-to-air missiles; antisubmarine warfare (ASW), with their towed sonar array, anti-submarine rockets, and ASW helicopter; antisurface warfare (ASuW) with their Harpoon missile launcher; and strategic land strike role with their Tomahawk missiles.
