Sun Group Introduces Video Name Tag and Digital Signage Player. Up to 12 hours of playback time
The Sun Group of Taipei, Taiwan, has introduced THE Digital TAG, Video Name Tag (Model No.: SUN-SG824), a wearable digital signage player the size of a 2.4-by-2-inch name tag that delivers a message through professional video content on a 320 x 240 resolution screen.
THE Digital TAG, the Sun Group’s version of a personal digital signage player, can deliver tailored video messages to customers in retail stores.
According to the company, it designed this tiny digital signage marketing tool to enable retail employees to deliver tailored messages to every customer. The Digital TAG turns location-specific marketing and sales messages into a one-on-one employee/customer interaction.
Other applications the company suggests include employee orientation and training, job fairs, conventions and social events.
THE Digital TAG’s content can be set to display individual store specific messaging like specials, company wide marketing or any combination of the two using AVI or JPEG content. New content can be easily uploaded using a TF card and mini USB interface, the company said.
The unit is a mere half-inch thick, weighs just 1.4 ounces and averages three to four hours of playback time on rechargeable lithium-ion batteries.

To reduce the computer's size and weight, Apple omitted certain features long standard on its laptops. It is Apple's first notebook since the PowerBook 2400c without a built-in removable media drive[4]. Users may purchase an external USB SuperDrive, or use bundled Remote Disc software to access the optical drive of another computer[5].

To reduce the computer's size and weight, Apple omitted certain features long standard on its laptops. It is Apple's first notebook since the PowerBook 2400c without a built-in removable media drive[4]. Users may purchase an external USB SuperDrive, or use bundled Remote Disc software to access the optical drive of another computer[5].
It lacks a security slot[6] and an Ethernet port[7], although a USB-to-Ethernet adapter may be purchased separately[8]. Some have complained about the omission of these features[attribution needed]. In addition, the MacBook Air offers only a single USB port. The MacBook Air lacks Cardbus and ExpressCard slots, both standard features in older and newer laptops, respectively [9].
The MacBook Air is Apple's first laptop computer to be offered with an optional solid-state hard drive[10]. ArsTechnica found "moderate" performance improvements of the 64GB solid-state drive over the standard 80GB hard drive in tests [11].

Things learnt (and what not to do... or say) from fourteen months spent marketing B2C and B2B in the local Australian and emerging international skincare and beauty industry.
After managing a local Perth marketing agency it has been nice to work in-house this past year or so in an Australian skincare brand, applying real-world best practice marketing strategy in a fully integrated approach across traditional offline and current online channels.
Branding - brand consistency. The brand is what your consumers say about your business! So go and actually ask and listen to them. Determine your ideal consumer persona profile so you can match the marketing delivery to suit their interests and go to where they hang out so you can engage where it is appropriate and they are ready or wanting to make a purchase decision.
Rebranding is a big decision and don't take it lightly. Learning is an ongoing exercise in refinement and if you measure you can make informed decisions rather than purely emotional or personal preferences that don't align with your ideal client persona. A shorter product and company name makes many things easier!
Compliance is a complex area and important for all members of the sales and marketing team to be on the same page. Creating a set of rules of engagement for the brand which covers local and international regulations for advertising and data management is similar to having a style guide for the business to be consistent and compliant.
So what pay-per-click (PPC) channels did I use?
Google AdWords with remarketing, Facebook Ads, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn Ads. All with highly structured targeting to narrow in to the desired intended audience. Providing reinforcement to other campaign activities and as social supported sales actions.
What were my principle marketing channels and what was my preferred provider tools?
EDMs - eMarketing using MailChimp. MC is so powerful and versatile with quality template management, list building tools (built our B2C list up to 100K active subscribers this year), connects into ecommerce platforms such as BigCommerce, has detailed campaign tracking with ecommerce reports so you can make informed decisions about ROI and the automation tools are very powerful.
FAX - old school but still effective for B2B and the Ozmedia online platform is convenient, cost effective and has some great prospecting lists to increase reach in with this medium particularly for PR.
POSTAL - Direct Marketing to CRM segments with personalisation and strong brand design created awareness and part of the multi-touch point approach to connecting with warm leads and a prospecting CRM database for B2B that I built with over 10K+ leads that was central to the marketing activities.
Did I just do Facebook for my social strategy? No! Though I built a strong, loyal and highly engaged following of 28K+ followers on Facebook who enjoyed sharing their stories and creating genuine positive sentiment towards the brand, and Facebook was certainly the best performer when it comes to ROI in advertising, I still created substantial cross pollination and brand reinforcement across many popular social media channels including; Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Google+ (yes it's still active), Flickr, Tumblr, Ello, Snap, YouTube and Vimeo. This substantially assisted building inbound links to the website for SEO and for search engines to learn about the positive sentiment around the brand. Social assisted sales improve through a commitment to content and engagement within these channels. Preparing a comprehensive library of canned responses to FAQs improves reply response time and ensures consistency to the brand message and style.
Other exciting and highly effective strategies included identifying key influencers across social media channels and collaborating with these as part of content marketing and building inbound links, building a substantial network of bloggers working on creating brand awareness and product testimonials. Positive product reviews are the backbone of generating trust signals for converting new consumers and useful for CRO (Conversion Rate Optimisation) when placed at pivotal points of the sales funnel.
Another CRO tool I implemented quickly was an exit pop within the shopping cart in an attempt to capture consumers abandoning the shopping cart part way through to save the sale which worked very well and was also supported by email automation with follow-ups an hour after leaving the shopping cart and next day with suitable incentives.
Adding an Affiliate Marketing solution integrated with the BigCommerce shopping cart tied into the Key Influencers is a more recent addition to the marketing strategy deployed. It can exponentially grow brand visibility and sales. LeadDymo was my tool of choice and a very powerful affiliate platform to connect, manage, provide a resource library, measure and pay the affiliates.
The tools I used almost daily included; Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premier, After Effects, Acrobat, Google Analytics, AdWords, Hootsuite, and each social media channel app on phone, tablet and desktop, BigCommerce, MailChimp, WordPress and a few others.
It has been a very beneficial experience working hands-on in this industry with B2B and B2C marketing challenges, particularly the opportunity to explore marketing in the Asian pacific region and with China's Tmall, JD and Alibaba shopping channels and WeChat social media, and even the influential Chinese Daigou buyer network.
Anti competitor behaviour, negative SEO attacks, including negative review posting by competitors and other aggressive competitor behaviour is apparent in this industry and requires companies to be vigilant and constantly monitoring their brand mentions and have strategies prepared to deploy rapidly to counter common sniping attacks.
Training and educating the staff on social media, social networking to build contacts and selling to engage in the sales cycle helps to amplify the company's social posting and increase reach. LinkedIn is a powerful B2B channel that many businesses fail to identify and leverage.

Part six of my iPod collecting adventure arrived this week in the form of the iPod Nano 6th Generation 8GB which I was lucky enough to receive as an early birthday present this week. It was purchased from the new Covent Garden Apple Store which was an incredible retail environment that has been lovingly restored and provided a great place to show off all of the new Apple designs.
Once I was dragged away from the 11.6" MacBook Air (kicking and screaming) I eventually decided on the 8GB Nano, for me to try to use as a watch, but mainly to be used when running. The hardware is amazingly small, so small that it really takes you by surprise when you see it in the flesh for the first time. The multi-touch display, although small, is amazingly responsive and the whole experience is brilliant.

FIAT AT THE 26TH SÃO PAULO INTERNATIONAL AUTO SHOW
This Auto Show edition is special to Fiat: in 2011 it will celebrate its 35 years in Brazil. And, before this important milestone in the company’s history, there is nothing fairer than to show the success of its models, its futures launchings and its new projects, in almost three thousand square meters occupied by Fiat in this Auto Show. Thirty (30) automobiles are in exhibit. Among them, the highlights are: the concept cars – FCC III, Uno Cabrio and Uno Ecology -; a new version of the New Uno, the Sporting, which is arriving at the dealers; and the preliminary presentation of Fiat Bravo.
As it forms part of Fiat’s philosophy to maintain kindled the discussion on the automobile’s future and how to be part of this future in a more and more innovative and efficient way, the brand presents at the Auto Show its third concept car developed at the Giovanni Agnelli Development Pole (Betim/MG), the Fiat Concept Car III, which was idealized by the consumer through the web portal www.fiatmio.cc. This shows the company’s creativity and capacity in assimilating what the worldwide consumer has in mind as the future automobile, that is, the model that will be conceptually ideal for his needs.
FCC III or Fiat Mio as it was baptized brings elements that laud the sustainable view, besides items that assure man’s connectivity to the automobile and the universe, which encompasses world urban mobility. Besides the Concept Car there will be at the stand multi-touch monitors where everything about the product, its conception and realization will be presented. In a closed auditorium, the public present will also see a film about this Concept and immediately afterwards it will be invited to answer an interactive quiz about Mio.
Along the same line of the FCC III, Uno Concept Ecology and Uno Concept Cabrio will be shown. Concept Ecology was presented in the launching of the New Uno and then it was one of the highlights of the Michelin Challenge Bibendum 2010. The model that carries on its structure the successful design of the New Uno is directed towards solutions that transform an automobile more ecological, more sustainable and with below average environmental impact.
Concept Cabrio is another example of Fiat’s involvement with new solutions, even though they are only exercises of creativity. Using the two-door body, the convertible model is an example of infinity of alternatives that can be generated from the New Uno platform. The result is a sports automobile, young and at the same time, sophisticated.
The company also reserved an outstanding place to present the New Fiat Bravo. With its design characterized by Fiat’s “family feeling”, it affirms the brand as world reference in design. Bravo will also be reference in new technologies in the national market. Sportiveness, comfort and safety are some of its characteristics. Without mentioning the excellent performance that Bravo reaches with the E.TorQ 1.8 16V Flex and 1.4 16V Turbo engines, which carries the Downsizing concept and today equips Fiat Punto and Fiat Linea.
Still under the impact of a great launching, and an unprecedented public acceptance, the New Uno, which has been breaking sales records and contributing decisively towards maintenance of the brand’s leadership in Brazil, has highlighted at the stand the launching of Uno Sporting, synonym of sportiveness and exclusivity.
This new version that is arriving at the market is another example that New Uno is versatile, malleable, moldable to the most varied intentions and needs. Sporting brings together all good qualities and contents of the New Uno, with spontaneity, efficiency and beauty of the more sportive versions. Equipped with the new and modern Fire 1.4 Evo engine, Uno Sporting arrives with new contents, technology, and exclusiveness in customization, besides adoption of suspensions that reinforce its quality of sportiveness and of an automobile that provides great pleasure to be driven.
Distributed throughout the Fiat space as well are the models that maintain the brand’s presence in the Brazilian market. Among them is Punto that made its debut with the new E.TorQ 1.6 and 1.8 16V engines of FPT – Powertrain Technologies, which offer low noise levels, emissions of contaminants and internal energy consumption, with excellent torque at low revolutions.
After Fiat Punto, these new engines also equip models of the Palio family – like Siena’s new special Sporting series, which carries the E.TorQ 1.6 16V engine -, Fiat Doblò and Linea, the latter recognized for its elegant lines, its quintessence, comfort and for its technological resources.
Present at the stand as well the new design of Idea, developed in Brazil by the Fiat Style Center for Latin America, which gave the model a more sophisticated look. At the rear, it bears new LED lighted lamps – Fiat Idea is the first national automobile to offer this technology. The new Idea has also received the new family of E.TorQ 1.6 16V and 1.8 16V engines.
An especially prepared space shows evidently the particularities of the Adventure line. Under a more encompassing view, the company associates technology of the products to sustainable thoughts. Just as how the mind of whoever proposes to take advantage of the locomotion properties of the Adventure models must be.
The decoration of the ambience is done with recyclable materials and reforestation wood. In Trofeo Linea important national motor car racing pilots are at the wheel of a Fiat Linea T-Jet with the 1.4 turbo engine from FPT – Powertrain Technologies equipped with the renowned Italian Abarth competition kit. With this preparation, Linea’s turbinated engine gains a high performance Racing profile: the original power of 152 hp leaps up to incredible 215 hp.
Besides various models exhibited, interactivity at the stand is also great, besides a quiz directed towards the FCC III, visitors can play in games with simulators and look for information at the Totems with complete contents about each of the models in exhibition. And more: the artists of the program “É Tudo Improviso” [Everything is Impromptu] will have the mission of interacting with the visitors at its providential irreverence and unusual jokes. The stand will even have a reserved space for Radio Fiat Jovem Pan, which will transmit its daily programming inside Anhembi to all of Brazil, nationwide: between 2:00 PM and 10:00 PM. The portal Terra will also be at the stand with live broadcast. All these activities emphasize the brand’s young, fun and irreverent spirit. In closing, the store Fiat Fashion brings various fashion options and present in its collection for the brand’s fans from all ages.
Fiat Concept Car III, FCC III, is the manufacturer’s interpretation of the ideas posted by internet users around the world on www.fiatmio.cc. It will be introduced in Sao Paulo International Auto Show, in October, in Brazil.
The model’s first 3D images were fully prepared by the virtual design team of Fiat Style Center for Latin America. “The virtual work saves us time in the prototype’s development. Our designers have much more agility in giving life to the ideas of internet users with this technology”, says Peter Fassbender, Manager of Fiat Style Center for Latin America.

The Sun Group of Taipei, Taiwan, has introduced THE Digital TAG, Video Name Tag (Model No.: SUN-SG824), a wearable digital signage player the size of a 2.4-by-2-inch name tag that delivers a message through professional video content on a 320 x 240 resolution screen.
THE Digital TAG, the Sun Group’s version of a personal digital signage player, can deliver tailored video messages to customers in retail stores.
According to the company, it designed this tiny digital signage marketing tool to enable retail employees to deliver tailored messages to every customer. The Digital TAG turns location-specific marketing and sales messages into a one-on-one employee/customer interaction.
Other applications the company suggests include employee orientation and training, job fairs, conventions and social events.
THE Digital TAG’s content can be set to display individual store specific messaging like specials, company wide marketing or any combination of the two using AVI or JPEG content. New content can be easily uploaded using a TF card and mini USB interface, the company said.
The unit is a mere half-inch thick, weighs just 1.4 ounces and averages three to four hours of playback time on rechargeable lithium-ion batteries.

Sun Group Introduces Video Name Tag and Digital Signage Player. Up to 12 hours of playback time
The Sun Group of Taipei, Taiwan, has introduced THE Digital TAG, Video Name Tag (Model No.: SUN-SG824), a wearable digital signage player the size of a 2.4-by-2-inch name tag that delivers a message through professional video content on a 320 x 240 resolution screen.
THE Digital TAG, the Sun Group’s version of a personal digital signage player, can deliver tailored video messages to customers in retail stores.
According to the company, it designed this tiny digital signage marketing tool to enable retail employees to deliver tailored messages to every customer. The Digital TAG turns location-specific marketing and sales messages into a one-on-one employee/customer interaction.
Other applications the company suggests include employee orientation and training, job fairs, conventions and social events.
THE Digital TAG’s content can be set to display individual store specific messaging like specials, company wide marketing or any combination of the two using AVI or JPEG content. New content can be easily uploaded using a TF card and mini USB interface, the company said.
The unit is a mere half-inch thick, weighs just 1.4 ounces and averages three to four hours of playback time on rechargeable lithium-ion batteries.

I backed Scott Wilson's Kickstarter project to design and manufacture a pair of beautiful watch bands perfectly designed to accomodate a 6th generation iPod Nano... effectively turning the device into a multi-touch watch.

Apple's new tablet announced, the iPad.
LED-backlit, IPS Display
The high-resolution, 9.7 inch LED-backlit, IPS display on iPad is remarkably crisp and vivid. Which makes it perfect for web browsing, watching movies, or showing off photos. It’s also been designed to work in any orientation — portrait or landscape. And because it uses a display technology called IPS (in-plane switching), it has a wide, 178° viewing angle. So you can hold it almost any way you want, and still get a brilliant picture, with excellent color and contrast.
Multi-Touch
The Multi-Touch screen on the iPad uses the same revolutionary technology that’s in an iPhone. But for iPad, the technology has been completely reengineered for the larger surface, to make it extremely precise and responsive. So when you’re zooming in on a map, flicking through your photos, or deleting an email, iPad responds with incredible accuracy. And it does just what you want it to
Thin and light
One of the first things you’ll notice about the iPad is how thin and light it is. The screen is 9.7 inches, measured diagonally. So overall, it’s slightly smaller than a magazine. And at just 1.5 lbs and 0.5 inches thin,1 it’s easy to carry and use anywhere. There’s also a slight curve to the back. Which makes it easy to pick up and comfortable to hold.
Up to 10 hours battery life
To maximize battery life, Apple engineers took the same lithium polymer battery technology they developed for our notebook computers and applied it to the iPad. As a result, you can use iPad for up to 10 hours while surfing the web on Wi-Fi, watching videos, or listening to music.2
Wireless
With built-in 802.11n, iPad can take advantage of the fastest Wi-Fi networks. And it’ll automatically locate available Wi-Fi networks, which you can easily join with a few simple taps. iPad also comes with Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR, which lets you connect to devices like wireless headphones or the Apple Wireless Keyboard.
3G
iPad will also be available in a 3G model, with super-fast data speeds up to 7.2 Mbps.3 So if you’re traveling, or you happen to be somewhere that doesn’t have a Wi-Fi network, you can still get a fast connection for surfing the web, downloading email, or getting directions.
Performance
The A4 chip inside iPad was custom-designed by Apple engineers to be extremely powerful, and yet extremely power efficient. So the performance is unlike anything you’ve ever seen on a touch-based device. Which makes iPad fantastic for everything from productivity apps to games. But at the same time, the A4 chip is so power efficient that it helps iPad get up to 10 hours of battery life on a single charge. And iPad is available with a choice of 16, 32 or 64GB flash storage.4 Which gives you lots of room for your photos, movies, music, apps, and more.
Connectivity
The 30-pin dock connector on the bottom of the iPad allows you to dock and charge it. It also lets you connect to iPad accessories like the Camera Connection Kit or the Keyboard Dock.
Audio
The powerful, built-in speaker produces a full, rich sound. Which makes watching a movie or listening to music even more enjoyable. It also comes with a headphone jack and a built-in microphone.
Accessories
There are lots of great accessories that have been specifically designed for iPad. The Keyboard Dock, for instance, is a dock with a full-size keyboard. There’s also a standalone Dock. And because iPad has built-in Bluetooth 2.1, it’ll work with an Apple Wireless Keyboard, too. There’s also a Camera Connection Kit that lets you import photos from a camera or SD card. There’s even an iPad Case that not only protects it, it also allows you to use iPad in various positions, to make it easy to type, look at photos, or watch movies. And through a range of accessories, iPad can output to TVs, projectors and displays.
