The man was BODACIOUS. He fought the good fight. He took his step to the other side a long time ago. R.I.P.

The club produced some champions and many sports figures and NHL stars were members. The oldest boxing gym in Canada -1943. (under different name and location) is still run as non-profit, but Sullivan died in 1999. Mural Ben Lory in Nov, 2020.

Today is the 9th day of Valentine's month of February, and it is fitting to share my gratitude for the love shown to me by my friends and to promote love and friendship for everyone. We all need and deserve friends.
HSS 😊😊😍
Those friends thou hast, and their adoption tried, Grapple them unto thy soul with hoops of steel,"
William Shakespeare - Hamlet
A single rose can be my garden; a single friend, my world
Leo Buscaglia
Friendship is the golden thread that ties the heart of all the world."
John Evelyn
Friendship is the only cement that will ever hold the world together.
Woodrow Wilson
Friendship is the hardest thing in the world to explain. It's not something you learn in school. But if you haven't learned the meaning of friendship, you really haven't learned anything,
Muhammad Ali
The language of friendship is not words, but meanings. It is an intelligence above language
Henry David Thoreau
The most important thing is, even if we're apart, I'll always be with you.

Will You Ever?
Kaitlyn M. Yawn
I don't think you will
Ever fully understand
How you've touched my life
And made me who I am.
I don't think you could ever know
Just how truly special you are,
That even on the darkest nights
You are my brightest star.
You've allowed me to experience
Something very hard to find,
Unconditional love that exists
In my body, soul, and mind.
I don't think you could ever feel
All the love I have to give,
And I'm sure you'll never realize
You've been my will to live.
You are an amazing person,
And without you I don't know where I'd be.
Having you in my life
Completes and fulfills every part of me.

"Stand by Me" sung by Muhammad Ali
He floated like a butterfly and stung like a bee
He was the legendary Muhammad Ali
the greatest boxer that ever fought
a humanitarian that not only taught
us all to dream and reach up high
but if life knocks you down then get up again and touch the sky
he never let illness get him down
he fought that fight bravely until the final round
he was a poet and campaigner for civil rights
he was an author and he even sang between his fights
he sang Stand by Me in 1963
I could listen to him sing that song endlessly
The world has lost an inspirational man
but his legacy will carry on
He was the greatest Champion
not just of boxing but of his fellow man.

This sign still exists from 1966 which was advertising the upcoming fight in Toronto between George Chuvalo, a Canadian boxer and Muhammad Ali.
Ali was scheduled to fight WBA champion Ernie Terrell in Chicago, Illinois, on March 29, 1966, however Ali, facing the possibility of being drafted into the United States Army created a huge uproar by saying, "I ain't got no quarrel with them Viet Cong. No Viet Cong ever called me n*****." He was called before the Illinois State Athletic Commission to apologize for his "unpatriotic remarks." Ali would refuse to apologize, which prompted Illinois Attorney General William G. Clark to declare the bout "illegal" forcing Bob Arum to search for an alternative location.[2] Ultimately a deal for Ali to fight in Toronto, Canada was agreed, with Canadian heavyweight champion George Chuvalo agreeing to face Ali on 17 day notice.
Ali won the fight on points.
Muhammad Ali - January 17, 1942 – June 3, 2016
I think he was one of the greatest sportsmen ever as well as a man who stood by his principals. He was so much more than a boxer.
RIP Mohammad Ali
He came to my university's Black Power Week in 1969.
I clearly remember that he had a powerful aura about him; definitely larger than life. He did a salute, and I wondered how he could find a boxing glove big enough to fit his massive fist.
Rest in peace, butterfly and bee, poet and warrior.

This was a pretty awesome display and design. But man that museum was overwhelming with text and info everywhere. Too much.
Here is a brand new Muhammad Ali mural in Louisville. I think the ceremony for it will be in a couple of days.
Muhammad Ali famously lifted up three fingers to predict that his opponent Charlie Powell would fall to him in the third round. It has also been three years since Ali's death.

I can't recommend his book enough! I see why Bono asked for his autograph. I used to read a lot when I was a kid, then as a teenager. As a kid, books were my escape… As a teenager, I had to learn English, and that was the best way to do it. Now I look at books differently. Obviously, it is impossible to remember everything one reads, especially for avid readers. But… We ourselves become a library. Our brain is a library. Everything stays. It enters, never leaves, and we become our library. Reading is more than a hobby; it’s more than passing or doing well on a Regents exam or SAT. Reading is who you become as a human being.
