Just a little pattern I saw in the mud while hiking in the Badlands National Park, South Dakota. It was pretty bland until I slid those sliders around and coaxed these cool colors to emerge turning the mud into gold. In the process, I even found some small animal tracks. I hope those little feet did better with the mud than my sneakers did, the mud was a mixture of glue and concrete!

We had a few encounters with wild hogs feeding along the banks of the Chassahowitzka River, and its spring tributaries. There are three general types including free-ranging swine that come from domesticated stock, Eurasian wild boar, and hybrids of the two, although they are all considered the same species. Florida's population is second only to Texas. Unfortunately they are a very destructive non-natives. [Source]

So I have this really cool mud mask made of french clay. It goes on in an olive-colored paste but dries unevenly so that you end up looking sort of like Sylvester Stallone getting made up for an action movie.
Never let it be said that I'm incapable of getting dirty or rising to a challenge!!! Dirty enough for you Myles??? This is a VERY rare self portrait (sort of) taken on a spa day and you won't see another for a very long time if ever ! Crappy photo and a joke---no invites please :-))). Myles said he wanted to see if I could get "dirty" and I had to prove I could:-))

This wasn't supposed to be the day's shot. Hence the poorly selected dof.
But I thought I'd have some fun with it.
Now to get some studying done.
I always find it interesting to observe people and imagine what is beyond the exterior. Our experiences mold us, penetrate us, mark us, and leave some scars that shall never heal. We are so familiar, so beautiful, and yet so bizarre.
This is my first ever self portrait! It's for a group contest. I used the self timer, my Lightscoop and my joby gorillapod :) Wow, sp's are exhausting! This is also a slight play on words, as I, like many of you, may be going f&f soon to keep little Olivia safe...
Update: it won the contest & won me a FREE set of Marta's new actions :)
Tasku was rolling upside down on a bank and slid head first into a bog, her look of surprise was hilarious. Maybe she wanted a mud mask :o) Unfortunately I didn't get the photo until after she had shaken most of it off.
Had a little fun tonight. Pampered myself with a face mask and did my nails. Topped off my night with some wine and some sweet treats.

I received a sample of a mud mask last week with my Sephora order. I normally just toss these samples in a drawer where they sit for months before I throw them away. When I looked at the list of challenges and saw "caring for" I thought about caring for self and thought about this mask. I was glad that I had a reason to use this because it was really nice. I may actually order a full size container of it!

Exotic White Thai Mud Mask. It's got a really strong smell, (ginger, cinnamon, turmeric and nutmeg according to the pack) which almost knocks you out at first.
I got a bit carried away and slapped it on quite thickly to see what kind of textures I could get as it dried and cracked a bit.
