The Quay, which consists of The Haven Inn public house, a fishmonger's shop, a number of ex-fishermans' cottages and a large car park, is still used by local fishing boats as well as being a base for many water sports. A RNLI inshore lifeboat station is on the Quay and can be seen in the background.

Colourful beach huts at Mudeford Spit, Dorset. The most expensive beach huts in the UK.

Mudeford is a harbourside and beachside parish based on a former fishing village in the east of Christchurch, Dorset, England, fronting water on two sides: Christchurch Harbour and the sands of Avon Beach. The River Mude and Bure Brook enter the harbour under the main promenade

The present-day Mudeford Quay was constructed in the late 1940s. Immediately prior to this, The Haven, as it was then known was surrounded by sloping beaches. The Run then was much wider than it is now and the area was subject to terrible erosion. So much so that Christchurch Council purchased the whole area in 1945. Five years later the area had been raised and reinforced with steel piles and concrete. Today the Quay, which consists of The Haven Inn public house, a number of ex-fishermans' cottages and a large car park, is still used by local fishing boats as well as being a base for many water sports. A RNLI inshore lifeboat station is on the Quay.

Something different to photograph during one of my Mudeford sunsets.

So having thought of a corny title I would like to thank everyone for your friendship and support during 2022 (and way before).

Still posting on Insta and dabbling on Vero however this will always remain my favourite place to share my photos.

Signing off 2022 with one of those crazy sunsets at Mudeford, probably my most geo-tagged location. I am lucky to have this location so near.

Happy New Year and wishing everyone a fabulous 2023. (It just needs to stop raining:)

So Monday morning saw me looking out of the window half asleep and rather gutted at a load of orange and red clouds.

So I decided to try and redeem things by going out for sunset.. and witnessed the best one I think I have ever seen!!

Mudeford has never let me down, I have caught some wonderful sunsets here. I wish in a way I'd been somewhere different but I'm also glad the tide was in nice and calm with some nice reflections.

We made an early morning trip to Mudeford last week which paid off quite well as the place was empty so I had plenty of time and freedom to take many beach hut shots!

The other night we had an epic sunset following a scorcher of a day but I wish I'd been a bit more prepared and gone somewhere different.

Mudeford is lovely though!

Have a great weekend everyone and be careful out there!!

The second one this week and its only Tuesday, proving that sunsets are like buses.

Tonights spectacle was at Mudeford and it was such an enjoyable photo session. No fight with a tripod, no missing battery, no odd people getting in my way, just peace and tranquility watching the colours unfold. No mishaps at all.

Or so I thought.

I have just realised that somehow my camera settings have changed from RAW to JPG (I don't know how, I would never intentionally do this). So the last couple of shoots have not been shot in RAW.

I know JPG files are lossy quality but they open in Photoshop as large files and I can edit them in LR as normal. The largest I would print them is likely to be A1 which I offer on my ETSY shop.

So maybe not a disaster? I hope not anyway :(

Boat PE1043,

Sunset captured at Mudeford Quay earlier this year during the first lockdown on one of our daily walks allowed at the time and no tripod.

Still waters with some colourful light.

Mudeford, Dorset UK.

Pronounced "Muddy Ford."

A moody evening at Mudeford just now. I really just wanted to get out of the house after a weekend of dull inspiring weather. I wasn't really expecting to take any photos but this location offers plenty of opportunities when you get a calm high tide. No filters used.

Some colour to hopefully brighten up a dull day.

I was starting to give up on sunsets, for weeks they haven't been particularly amazing; either too much cloud or not enough.

So I went along to Mudeford and it looked a bit hazy so I wasn't too worried initially when one of the tripod legs refused to tighten, I'm still getting used to it. It just wouldn't play ball though, I was still wrestling with it as the sky colour deepened into something amazing, much to my dismay. In the end I had to hold it as a monopod and only got about two acceptable shots.

Of course when I got home it was fine!!

Have a lovely weekend everyone x

I thought it was worth posting another of the beach huts as I was scampering up and down the beach in front of some bemused surfers trying to vary the composition.

This was the painting I attempted.. I stress the word attempted.

I hope everyone has a good weekend whether it be down the boozer or elsewhere!

Mudeford (/m^difərd/ MUD-i-fərd) is a harbourside and beach-side parish based on an ex-fishing village in the east of Christchurch, Dorset, England (historically in Hampshire), fronting water on two sides: Christchurch Harbour and the sands of Avon Beach.

Resized to give a pano look.

For Smile on Saturday / Sliders Sunday. These gorgeous beach huts are some of the most expensive in the country. You can see why, too. They really are fabulous. In reality, of course, each one is a different colour. Just off Mudeford Quay, Dorset. Have a great Weekend folks, with lots of smiles !

Decided to do an early morning visit here, my favourite time of the day.

The sunset last Monday evening was simply glorious.

I've still got more shots to share from this, the lovely misty sunrise at Wareham and the sunset on the Jurassic Coast last month.

For now I am getting ready for my trip to Tenerife. I have decided to take my camera with one versatile kit lens in a nifty small bag for some walk around photography.

Laters!

from the top of Hengistbury Head. The hours I spent up here with my grandfather while my mother was in hospital and I was 7! It's not a totally wild headland any longer, but it is still a special place!
