The Moosfluh viewpoint at an altitude of 2,233 m. offer a breathtaking view of the Great Aletsch Glacier. From up there, the giant glacier seems close enough to touch.
The Aletsch Glacier, which carries an incredible 27 billion tons of ice, is the largest glacier in the Alps.
If this mass of ice melted, it could supply every single person on the Earth with a litre of water every day for 4.5 years.

This high lookout lies in the heart of the Norwegian fjords, overlooking the beautiful view of the Neroydalen valley (UNESCO world heritage landscape) and reachable via the highway E16.
Down I drove by the old winding road Stalheimskleiva, which has 13 hairpin bends with the maximum grade of 20 %. This route is the Northern Europe’s steepest road and included in the site "dangerousroads" - the world's most spectacular roads. It’s a one-way road going down and is open from May to September.

* * *

Preikestolen is a steep cliff which rises 604 metres above the Lysefjorden. Atop the cliff, there is an almost flat top of approximately 25 by 25 metres.
The hike to Preikestolen from the closest car park is very steep and takes 2–3 hours. The path starts at an elevation of about 270 metres above sea level, and climbs to 604 metres. Though the vertical drop is only 334 metres, the total elevation gain and loss over the course of the hike is more than one might initially expect, as the path climbs and descends various ridges.
But the hard way is fully compensated by the breathtaking views ...
This picture is an attempt to find a non-trivial view of this one of the most famous places in Norway.
Usually it shows a plateau with people, someone on the edge of the cliff, or view separately. Here I tried to combine the mystique of rock and a view of the fjord ...

The hill to the right across the lake is where I took yesterday's shot. Lough Tay in the Wicklow mountains.
It was a fantastic walk through the Sigmund-Thun Klamm and round the Klammsee.
The Klammsee is a reservoir, is an underground storage with a volume of 200,000 m³ and part of the power station Kaprun. The dam Bürgsperre with a height of 19 m accumulates the Kaprun Ache.
The beautiful place is located in the municipality of Kaprun in Salzburg in Austria.

A couple of the Wrangell Range peaks rising majestically above Willow Lake.
Mt Drum (12,010 ft; 3,660 m) and Mt. Sanford (16,237 ft; 4,949 m) are both volcanoes, fortunately slumbering at this time. First time I drove thru here I could barely see the lake, with the heavy rains. Didn't know what I was missing. Sure glad I had a chance to see them on my return.
Happy Friday!
