The fantasy says “We were all once caterpillars and then one day we morphed, grew wings and became beautiful butterflies. For some it happens in there 20’s, for some much later in life. But it happens to us all. I believe that in my heart! When we embrace our unique and colorful patterns and become comfortable in our own skin, we fly on amazing journeys. In this transformation we attract magical life-forces, both physical and spiritual.
I have never seen a butterfly that seemed unhappy. The way they flutter about, bopping and weaving among the green, they always seem so very elated to be doing their thing. Like a dance is happening on their journey accompanied by some upbeat music we can’t hear. To watch them is to smile and to gently caress one is something you never forget. Their lives are short but there impact on nature and ourselves is everlasting .
Angela came to me with a photo of a women in the forest covered in butterflies. That lit the inspiration for this. But I think that if there ever was anyone that would attract the love of many butterflies it’s her. She is a warm soul with a kind heart to all things furry and wild. It took me most of my life to find her. Now I can’t imagine my life without her and I love her very much.

I built my first sky waterfall on Bisque in 2007. The build has morphed many times and I placed the current version on RiverLand.
My inspiration was the sky waterfall at SL Botanical Gardens. The builder there has been my most favorite builder here in Second Life. Her region is one of the best on the grid.
My version is a bit psy and a nod to the incredible waterfalls that I have seen in real life. Only Mother Nature can create what I have seen and my pitiful attempts are just to pay homage to her.
I own WET Builders, WETLands Group, and both regions WETLands and RiverLand. As a builder, my focus is nature and water elements. Of course, this is Second Life, so I usually add a bit of psy to the build, too.
All my lands on the mainland and the regions are open to the public. The only place that has barriers is my personal home. You are all welcome to everything else. Please enjoy!

For this card I added Bazzill lavender cardstock to the back of the card and behind the acetate sentiment. I changed out the white double scallop to lavender. I added a multicolored ribbon from Michael's on top of the white ruffled ribbon and colored the existing brad with Copic B05.
For the Butterflies, I used CL383 Antique Engravings. I was inspired by Shari Carroll's video here using distress inks. heroarts.com/learning/technique.cfm?techID=212
I love the ethereal feel this technique imparts on the images. I used Tumbled Glass, Dusty Concord, and Shabby Shutters and a final misting of Glimmer Mist to give them a dewy look.

With the second section of the Eutaw Springs passage, what was a well-maintained and well-marked Palmetto Trail has morphed into a confusing jaunt where reality bears no resemblance to the maps printed from the www.palmettoconservation.org website. While it is frustrating, I expected this kind of challenge and the Palmetto Trail experience would have somehow fallen short of my expectations if this hadn’t have happened.
For those weary travelers behind me…
1) don’t trust the trial marker at mile 10 – it does not lead to any semblance of a trail,
2) Fredcon Road does not intersect Hwy 6…take Rocks Pond Road and cut across to Fredcon,
3) Bounty Road does not intersect Hwy 6 either…take Battlefield Road, which is actually a loop, and take the short trail that connects it to Bounty Road,
4) don’t trust any signs on Section 2 of the Eutaw Springs Passage…the few that are there lay a false trail and, finally,
5) don’t trust the multi-cat owning Graeae that lives on Battlefield Road when she tells you to turn around and head back out to Hwy 6.

R. Beau Daignault
R. Beau Daignault is literally putting a new spin on the way we take photographs. His images Buddha Bomb and Rib capture rotational motion by way of a vintage 1940s Speed Graphic 4x5 field camera spliced with a flatbed scanner. Daignault’s homemade “FrakenCamera” takes an extended exposure lasting anywhere between one and thirty minutes that captures each section of the subject at a different moment in time. Instead of the typical blur one gets from a long exposure on a conventional camera, Daignault’s time-lapsed creations are almost sculptural in their dimensionality. The resulting temporal hyperplane images suggest an active manipulation of reality, a kind of warping of space and time. It is important to Daignault that the image be created entirely in the camera. None of the special effects are done in Photoshop, and any vertical streaks are the visual residue of the scanner technique.
Making a temporal hyperplane camera is not as easy as it sounds. It took Daignault a month to disassemble and rewire everything, and that was just his first model. Daignault improved on his first camera over time. He was guided in his efforts by the works and writings of Michael Golembewski and Shuzhen Wang, who wrote her thesis on building a scanner camera. Daignault’s work has shown in an exhibit of alternative art processes at the Quay School of Art in Wanganui, New Zealand.
Daignault’s scanner work takes some inspiration from his fine art background. He studied painting at the University of Oklahoma and has been painting for thirty years. Not interested in street photography, Daignault cares most about composition and aesthetic appeal. He saw the novel technique of the scanner camera as an opportunity to reexamine early photographic motifs like portraiture, tableau, and still life. Daignault cites cubism as another influence.
When photography was first invented, its ability to capture detailed, true-to-life images led artist Paul Delaroche to exclaim, “From today, painting is dead.” So, are Daignault’s morphed images, which capture the dimension of time, more or less true to life? “I think the idea of there being an absolute truth is misleading,” said Daignault. “There’s a lot of mystery” involved in photography; our ideas about what reality might be are heavily shaped by our schooling and influences, Daignault explained. Challenging the myth that photography need be an “objective” medium, Daignault’s work shows how a painterly eye and an innovative hand can broaden the scope of photography’s possibilities.

This one just morphed into something. I applied a PS template that I had and added the birds via some brushes. Funny how some things just come together. Model is from the AWAKE course series by Sebastian Michaels. Best course I've ever been part of, highly recommend it!
This little rabble-rouser morphed into a project I’ve wanted to do for a while now. Sculpted in polymer clay, the fully pose-able body was painted, polished and covered with artificial strands of fur/hair. It turned out to be an interesting combo between solidness and softness. His head can swivel, and his arms, fingers and tail are bendy! All together the little charmer has twelve points of articulation!
