St. Moritz (in romancio San Murezzan) è un comune svizzero del Canton Grigioni, rinomata località di villeggiatura.
Offre diversi impianti di risalita e piste per lo sci e diversi sentieri per escursioni in montagna. Nelle vicinanze, nel territorio comunale di Celerina, si trova la Cresta Run, una pista per bob e slittino di fama mondiale.

Nur ein Kurzabriss zur wechselvollen Geschichte dieses Sakralraumes: 1019 erfolgte der erste Bau an diesemPlatz.
1084 brennt es und 1299 stürzt dieser Bau dann ein.
1299 - 1314: größerer Neubau. 1714 - 15 erfolgt die vollständige
Barockisierung dieser Anlage durch Johann Jakob Herkommer.
In der Nacht vom 24. auf den 25. Februar 1944
erfolgte die komplette Zerstörung der Anlage bis auf Säulen und Aussenmauer. Dominikus Böhm lieferte die Pläne für den
Aufbau in der Tradition des Altbaus nach zeitgenössischer Form. Aufbau 1947 - 51. Letzte Innenraumgestaltung 2008 - 13
durch John Pawson mit tollem Beleuchtungskonzept.

The current church building from 1478 is based on a late medieval Romanesque predecessor church, the structure of which can still be found in the smaller of the two towers in the north of the facade. The striking late Gothic tower was badly damaged by a lightning strike in 1682. It was never completely renewed, but left in this roofless, monument-like state first for financial reasons and then for fundamental reasons. After the turmoil in Graubünden , San Gian was no longer used as a preaching church , but as a burial church, the last time it was restored in 1973–1980.
The nave is exceptionally long with a fairly flat ceiling and merges into a square choir . In this one can find northern Italian wall paintings from the pre-Reformation period around 1480–1490 with motifs, among others, on the life and death of John the Baptist and on the baptism of Jesus Christ.

Die St. Moritzkirche ist eine dar ältesten Sakralräume von Augsburg. Die Gründung eines Klosters erfolgte bereits im 11. Jh. und die verschiedenen Vorgängerkirchen sowie die Umgestaltungen in den jeweiligen Zeitgeschmack füllen
ganze Bücher. Letztendlich zerstörten die Bomben des 2. Weltkrieges die barocke Fassung der Kirche die dann, vereinfacht wieder aufgebaut wurde. Die letzte Sanierung und Neugesteltung des Innenraumes fand dann in den Jahren 2010 - 13 statt. John Pawsons Ziel war es den Kirchenraum eine neue Form der Klarheit und des Minimalismusses zu geben.
