Située dans la municipalité de Cap-Saint-Ignace, cette église est l'un des plus beaux exemples du patrimoine religieux de la région. L'édifice actuel a été construit à la fin du XIXe siècle après qu'un incendie eut détruit l'église précédente. Elle constitue la cinquième église de la paroisse depuis les débuts de la colonisation.

Construction en pierre.

Plans réalisés par l'architecte David Ouellet.

Crypte renfermant les sépultures de personnages historiques locaux.

L'église est inscrite au Répertoire du patrimoine culturel du Québec et fait partie du site patrimonial de Cap-Saint-Ignace. Elle constitue un élément majeur du paysage architectural et historique de la région.

Gesehen beim Abstieg von der Salmaser Höhe (ein schöner 'kleiner' Aussichtsberg bei Oberstaufen, Allgäu).

Wir mussten natürlich anhalten, um ein paar Fotos zu machen ... die ganze Zeit grinsend ;))

A cold light spreads across the marsh as winter grips the shoreline. Bare trees and frost-touched grasses stand quietly against the dark water. Above them, a fractured sky opens just enough to let the pale afternoon linger.
