8/52: The weekly/ monthly challenge - Leading lines...at least this is my interpretation as the weather has been so miserable here that I haven't got out to do any photography and my 24-105 (my everyday lens) has been in for repair for almost a month after getting chipped while on the beach on a very windy day. I think some debris must have hit it. So rather than get even more behind with the challenge I'm using this.
Also for Sliders Sunday. I used a painterly effect then a swirl effect and hue adjustment on a flower photo...the previous image in my photo stream. (in comments) HSS

В середине ХVІІІ века семья Разумовских была одной из самых богатых в России. Именно в это время и возвели величественный собор Рождества Богородицы. Учредительницей собора стала мать братьев Разумовских, Наталия Демьяновна. Придворная статс-дама (в прошлом обычная сельская женщина) инициировала строительство большой церкви в родном селе Лемешах. И почти одновременно она, при поддержке сына-гетмана, начала строительство огромного собора в Козельце, который строили в течение 11 годов (1752-1763). Руководили строительством архитекторы Квасов и Григорович-Барский. Храм возвели в стиле позднего барокко, но с элементами украинской народной архитектуры. Немного позже (в 1770) рядом с храмом была построена большая (высотой 50 метров) колокольня.

These shots were taken after the snow shots but by this time the snow had become rain and in no time at all the snow had all gone.
The Landscape shot was taken from a different spot and shows where the other images were taken with the road behind me, you may be able to see a Cormorant in the top of the tree, I`ll be back each month until the end of the year to shoot the tree.

July 28th, 2006: Our first successful time of breastfeeding. Ryan not only latched on but sucked! He was just an hour and a half shy of being two days old at the time this photo was taken.
Prior to this we had tried a few times to get Ryan to latch. He would, but hadn't figured out how to suck. So we syringe fed him while I pumped to stimulate milk production.
It was such a joy to have him latch and suck while I held him in my arms.

The northern lights are elementary particle physics, superstition, mythology and folklore come to life. Throughout the ages they have filled people with wonder and fear. They have challenged and inspired scientists and artists. I can certainly add photographers! To see the aurora was an unforgettable experience. Auroras are caused by vast super-heated supersonic collections of smashed atoms, known as solar wind, that enter the earth’s upper atmosphere where they collide with oxygen and nitrogen atoms. These collisions usually take place between 60 & 300 km above ground, causing the oxygen and nitrogen atoms to become electrically excited and to emit light. The result is a dazzling dance of green, blue, white and red light.

It's strange, I love doing flat lays but when I have to do one for a challenge it suddenly becomes difficult.
This is a birthday card I made for a very dear friend, we don't see each other often but when we do it's like we saw each other the day before. I got the inspiration for the card from a flat lay I did a couple of weeks ago. So thought I would do another flat lay incorporating the card...it's come full circle. The flowers are from my flower delivery last week. They had to make an appearance for the flower challenges. There are also bits from my craft stash...and I wrote the greeting using my recently learned brush stroke lettering...I keep meaning to practise more.
