The upside down trees are symbolic of the fact that they're dead/dying, and so are the upside down birds as an effect of pollution. The smog which fills our city skies these days, like a black veil, is shown here to be clouding the person's mind, and hence he's losing control of his senses (shown with the closed eyes) as the poison rages through his system, making him incapacitated.

Taking some shots with a new lens is always fun. This is the new S line Nikon 14-30mm/4. Renders very well.
