The Indian government has made efforts to prevent further damage, including monitoring air pollution levels. Monitor lizards searching for crocodile eggs, in the Murchison Falls National Park, north western Uganda

Walking through Lumpini Park in Bangkok, you will see Monitor Lizards here and there. some are close to 2m long!

Monitor lizards are generally large reptiles, with long necks, powerful tails, claws, and well-developed limbs. The occasional habit of these lizards to stand on their two hind legs and appear to ‘monitor’ their surroundings has been suggested to have led to their name. An astounding Monitor Lizard fact: some species are even known to have the ability to count!
