Hello my amazing Flickr friends !
Today is a pink or purple day at Color my World Daily. And the theme at Smile on Saturday is money box. And guess what ? I have a collection of piggy banks :-). All my piggy banks are exactly like the one you see in the picture but different sizes. I started this collection 14 years ago, when I had my first son. I’m always putting my coins in my piggy banks and I try not to empty them… My biggest one weights almost 20 pounds !!! It is full of coins but I also put some bills …So who knows how many millions is there in this piggy ? Maybe I’m super rich ! Seriously I doubt it but I must admit that I stoped overspending during the pandemic… Isn’t that awesome ? I’m keeping my money for a family vacation when it will be possible again.
I just hope we will be able to travel again before my sons are adults…

My wife's tiny credit card wallet served on a bed of old style money. Kindly loaned for Macro Mondays' theme "Wallet".
Today's forms of money have developed from primitive money, e.g. B. mussels or rice, which were accepted as a means of exchange in business life. Money initially belonged to the cultic and legal sphere and referred to "that with which one can repay or pay penance and sacrifices". Only after the 14th century did it assume its current meaning as a "coined currency". From the middle of the 19th century, the gold standard existed in many countries, promising the exchange of legal tender (coins, banknotes) for a fixed amount of gold. By the 1930s almost all major states had abandoned the gold standard. Instead of such a standard, monetary policy measures were taken by the central banks to ensure price stability.

Il "money tree" di Monument Valley è un ginepro storico dove i bambini Navajo usavano nascondere monete, ricevute dai turisti per le foto, sotto la corteccia per benedizioni spirituali.
L'albero è una caratteristica ben nota delle visite guidate locali, come i tour a cavallo di Dineh Trail Rides, ed è un luogo popolare per i visitatori dove lasciare un'offerta monetaria per buona fortuna.
Monument Valley's "money tree" is a historic juniper tree where Navajo children used to hide coins, received from tourists for photos, under the bark for spiritual blessings.
The tree is a well-known feature of local guided tours, such as the Dineh Trail Rides horseback tours, and is a popular place for visitors to leave a monetary offering for good luck.
