The week prior to this photo shoot I saw this gorgeous mustard field with mountains in the background. I didn't have a MUA but Danielle's mom told me about her aunt Jennifer who does make-up.
The mustard fields only last a month of out the year so I was very please and happy this day worked out. It's nice to see the end product of what was conceptualized in my head.
Great old filling station in the 1920s-1930s "box and canopy" style. I love the detail in the brick work. If you squint hard enough, you can barely make out an old Coca-Cola ghost sign on the left. Flatonia, Texas. 9.1.2012.

I am truly blessed that my dad is ok, I thank you to all that are concern about his health. My sister said it wasn't urgent that I fly to Alabama but I may visit them sooner than I thought.
So have a great weekend.

Sten Moeller made the voyage across the sea from his hometown of Jharton to Andarheim for the purpose of establishing the settlement’s first mill. It quickly became apparent that the meager amount of agricultural development around Andarheim would not be enough to support his millwork yet, so Sten expanded his enterprise by adding a merchant stand and dock. Through the sale and barter of everything from fishing tackle, to farm implements, weapons to tools, and of course seafood and crops, Moeller’s Point quickly became not only a very profitable venture for Sten, but also a great help to the rest of the residents of Andarheim.

Front Street Garage, 118 North Main Street, Galena, Kansas. This 1896 building was constructed in 1896 as a lumber yard and construction supply business for Louis K. Moeller & Joseph H. Smith. At that time it was known as the Smith and Moeller Building. The Front Street Garage moved into this building in the 1930s. At that time it was owned by A. C. Bradshaw. Today the building appears to be vacant.

After one of our RV tires blew, I was able to limp over to a truck stop off the next highway exit. We had some time to kill before AAA arrived. I may have taken some liberties with the sky on this one.

The church was originally known as St. John the Baptist or St. John's Catholic Church, but it is currently called the Catholic Church of St. John-Assumption, I assume because it was combined with the nearby Assumption Catholic parish. The Irish Catholic church and its cemetery are a few miles outside of Belle Plaine, Minnesota in Sibley County.
I have been unable to find out exactly when the church was built. Some online databases say it started in 1859, but that doesn't necessarily mean that the building itself was built that year. Other accounts say that it was built around 1870. Either way, it is a beautiful old building.
Information about the history of this church has been hard to find. About all I've discovered so far is that they had a M.P. Moeller # Opus 190 pipe organ with 2 manuals and 18 registers installed in the 1890's.
I would appreciate more history if anybody has some leads.
