BCUC

South Africa

With its hypnotic hip-hop vibe and punk-rock energy, BCUC (Bantu Continua Uhuru Consciousness) taps in to the spirit of its ancestors and the creative, rebellious energy of its hometown, Soweto. This outspoken and astounding seven-member band uses “incantations” in Zulu, Sotho and English, funky modulations and more to bring to the world the voice of their people. There are ritual songs, around-the-fire hood songs, shebeen songs, church songs, all used as weapons of political and spiritual liberation. The Africa portrayed by BCUC is not poor, but rich in tradition, rituals and beliefs. This band is about today and the future, infused with all that is the past.

Two amplitude-modulating square waves. This only shows the first few cycles of an OSC1 "on" phase, there was more.

Created by FM3, which consists of FM3 is Zhang Jian and Christiaan Virant, the Buddha Machine 1 was an instant hit a couple years back. It is one of those things that the world doesn't need but it just seems to be fun and fascinating for many people.

Now the Buddha Machine 2 has been recently released although its only available in Thailand via mail order. The easiest way to get it is from White Noise records in Hong Kong www.whitenoiserecords.org. It is just about 1000 Baht for a Buddha Machine plus shipping to Thailand.

So what does it do? The Buddha Machine has several prerecorded samples on its chip that are all ambient sounds that loop indefinitely. You just let it play and get a never stopping ambient sound that is supposed to sooth and relax. The Buddha Machine 2 has some new features compared to the first version such as a pitch modulation wheel where you can change the pitch of the sounds.

It has been so successful that several knock offs have been released. There is an Internet version available at www.zendesk.com/external/wall where you can listen to the sounds of the Buddha Machine. There is even an iphone application of the Buddha machine that can be found here: itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?i...

Therefore, Timothy, cherish the Sabbath. Pray and give worship, offer up

thanksgiving in My name. Be refreshed and washed in The Word, renewed in

the presence of God... *My son, speak of Me on the Sabbath, declare My name

and My glory! And when others draw near, speak to them also; yea, testify

of My Passion on the Sabbath day! Share My Word and My love, and blow this

trumpet! For My Kingdom comes!* from:

"The Jazz Station Big Band proves to be one of the most promising ensembles in Europe. The writing is ingenious and ambitious and the arrangements are deep and meaningful. Their astute use of odd time signatures, metric modulations and free improvisation keeps the listener engaged and interested but there's also great lyricism, simplicity and beauty in their work. Definitely a high quality release from an ensemble that has unlimited potential"

Homemade three channel pulse width modulation driver allowing precisely defined illumination for cyanobacterial culture.

The motor produces almost no noise, saves energy (60-80%) and is brushless, speed djustable and durable. It provides a high starting torque even at low speed or from a complete stop. By using a modern technologically advanced microprocessor,Hall sensor and Pulse-Width Modulation technology, the TNS800 series motor can be set to rotate at different maximum speeds, in either normal or reverse directions, and can start with different accelerating speeds. It will stop automatically with any interruption such as in-line voltage, electrical surge, radio frequency interference or overloading. It is fully protectedted by the software and will give error messages indicating which problem is encountered. It even works well in environments with an unstable electrical power supply.

Features & Settings:

1.Motor rotating direction setting

2.Slow starting speed

3.Maximum speed setting

4.Needle positioning setting

The rules:

Select a pair of primary colors, and using them along with any/all colors in between, compose a painting consisting of large shapes and small shapes on the grid. Use transitions (slight modulations in the colors, whether it be saturation or intensity changes). You can only use your selected color palette and grays.
