Had to work in San Luis Obispo yesterday and today. So, yesterday after work I spoke with Model Mayhem Model Torey and she wanted to shoot. The last time we worked together was after the Paso Robles Photowalk and did some shots around town. Anyway, here's one from our recent shoot that was only an hour. Enjoy!!! Nuff' Said

I met Melissa (also in this photo) at a show this past spring, and she's helped me with some shoots and has modeled for me for a clothing company shoot this summer. We finally realized that we had to get together to do a REAL shoot, so we took advantage of a 60 degree November day yesterday!

Marine de Vachon was kind enough to spend a couple of hours shooting with me at a local park for me to work on my lighting skills.
This was shot with a single Streaklight 360 using the supplied diffuser that came with the flash.

More from this shoot. This was the shot I actually had in mind when I wanted to do this but I ended up liking the other one better. I was partially inspired by this really cool scene from the movie "The Prestige."

CeeJohns wanted a composite placing her in an African setting. I had a background from the Red Rock area outside of Las Vegas, so that had to do.
I shot this against a lit (to white) cyc; doing it over I would have unlit it and let it go gray (I did shoot her for another composite she wanted against gray).
Strobist: 4 lights. 2 B800s on the background in strip boxes, full power, ~ f/11. Key is a B800 is a large softbox, camera left, f/7.1. Fill from a B800 in a large octa, front, slightly right, ~f/5.6. Triggered by Pocket Wizards.

I met Melissa at a show this spring, and she was one of the models for the 2012 Threads shoot I did this summer. Melissa is an amazing model, and a wonderful photographer herself! She helped me with a shoot I did with The Summer Set yesterday afternoon, and this was a test shot that I told her I'd send her :) I don't like the white street lights behind her head (I would have rather her been more towards the center of the sidewalk), but again, it was just a test shot.
AB800 through beauty dish at 1/2 power, directly in front of subject. Triggered with CyberSync's.

Ah, the lovely Erin. She needs no introduction. She's been on my photostream before as I'm sure many of you have noticed. Unfortunately, it's been a while since I took this image so I don't remember the lighting setup enough to share it with you. I believe it was one SB-600 driven by Nikon CLS via pop-up flash, but don't hold me to that.
