Well, 'Cupboard Queen' really!
I know I've posted photo's of her before but she's been shut in a cupboard for several years so I thought I'd revisit her and a couple of other residents too just to make sure she's still in one piece
To recap:
Bought as a Frog 1/96th scale BOAC DH Comet where as a teenager I first built her around the mid 1960's
A couple of years later I reworked her as a crude Nimrod MR.1 conversion when the real thing came into service
Into a box for several decades
Salvaged again in this Century and stripped down to basics.
Completely reworked to Nimrod R.1 status as XW664, one of 3 that the RAF operated until being replaced by the 'older' Boeing RC-135 Rivet Joint 'Airseekers'

I've finished my Revell / Monogram 1/48 scale T-6 to represent an IDF example circa 1954.
This is the Revell kit in the red plastic, built out of the box.

Since you get parts for two ships, you can build one of each type.

I finally got around to putting the decals on my out of the box Monogram 1/48 scale Typhoon.
The kit is marked 1995 so I am extremely surprised that the kit decals actually worked.
I may or may not add the rocket rails as I have a few more of this kit to build and besides having more kits on the go, I like a bit of variety.

This is the 1/35 scale Panda UH-1D but built as a RAAF UH-1H pre 1978. Still have the cargo doors and decals to add. Better photos to come.

In my previous image I introduced a new kind of collectible to my Photostream the Gunpla model kits.
This is an alternate version of that photo. I really like the atmosphere of the previous one but I wanted to show you few more details and so I posted this brighter version.
Gunpla ( the blend of Gundam and Plastic words) are model kits manufactured by the Japanese company Bandai, depicting the various character/vehicles from the Gundam universe.
When you open a Gunpla box they look like any other model kit, with the various “sprues”.
However they features, let’s say their tech, set them apart from the typical model kits we usually see (like those of a certain famous miniature tabletop company)
First, they don’t need glue. The parts are “snap-fit” and they connect each other so nicely once built they are far more stable than glued model kits.
Bandai uses a multi-color molding and that means the parts come already colored. Of course paintwork can be applied to improved the quality of the model (for example I added some simple weathering but there are persons who completely paint them to pro levels).
A common technique, for example, consists in using the specifically designed markers, called Gundam Markers (consider them a sort of “Sharpie marker”) to draw lines between panels and other “gaps” to create depth. It’s called “panel lining”.
However the most remarkable trait of Gunpla model kits is they are fully articulated and their articulations match those of the high-end action figures. They also have various interchangeable hands, accessories etc. It really puts them above any other kind of model kit.
Anyway I hope I didn’t bore you lol with these details. I wrote them just in case some of you never heard of those Gunpla and was curious to know what this figure is :)
I rarely post alternate versions of my images but I wanted to show more details of this figure and the lighting of the other was a bit darker for that purpose.
