Coming south out of Knoche Yard CPKC's ex-(ugh...) KCS mainline is anything but straight and flat. It's constantly twisting and turning, alternating between cuts and fills, and you can see all of those features in this view from the Sni-A-Bar Rd. overpass on the south side of Kansas City, MO.
This is southbound train no. 262, a daily Kansas City-Shreveport manifest, and on this day, it wasn't all that long.
Regardless, it looks great working it's way through the hills of eastern Jackson County, as does the train's leader, the KCS 4590. I struck out pretty spectacularly on the rest of the day's southbounds, but I'm really happy to have nabbed this one at a new-to-me location. Shoutout to Eric for the heads up on this location!
Tai Mo Shan (Chinese: 大帽山; pinyin: Dàmàoshān / Dàmào Shān; Cantonese Yale: daaih mouh sāān; literally: "Big Hat Mountain") is the highest peak in Hong Kong, with an elevation of 957 m. It is located at approximately the geographical centre of the New Territories.
The area surrounding Tai Mo Shan is a known as Tai Mo Shan Country Park, which covers an area of 14.40 km². It is located to the north of Tai Lam Country Park. It is noted to have the 35-metre Long Falls, the highest waterfall in Hong Kong.

Nhiều khi ... muốn đặt dấu chấm hết, nhưng ... em không cho phép em như thế.
Nhưng rồi cái gì đến cũng phải đến, nhỉ?
Em cần phải tự chấm dứt những thứ mà em vẫn đang cố mong nó sẽ thành thực, dù bản thân em biết sẽ chẳng thể nào có thể xảy ra.
Ngày ... ngày ... ngày ... cứ mơ và cứ mong, cứ ảo tưởng về những viễn cảnh quá xa vời.
Ừ, mơ thì chỉ là mơ, mơ thì sẽ không bao giờ thành thực nên em luôn mơ ngược lại.
Nhưng, kết quả cũng chỉ là thế. Chỉ là 1 con số 0 tròn ~
Em không nhận được gì, àh, có chứ, nhận được nước mắt và đau thương, nhận được những cái mà em đang chối bỏ. Và những "giá như" lại bắt đầu ~
... Giá như đừng đến thì có lẽ em sẽ chẳng phải đau ...
... Giá như ai đó dứt khoát rằng em chẳng có cơ hội nào thì có lẽ em sẽ chẳng "mơ" !!!
... Giá như ai đó biết được rằng em thích ai đó đến mức nào ...
... Giá như có 1 lần nào đó em được nói ra hết những gì em nghĩ, những gì mà bấy lâu em đang giữ.
Và giá như em biết điểm dừng...
Nhưng em hoàn toàn mất kiểm soát, đã đi quá xa với cái giới hạn cho phép.

Và ai đó dường như là con kiến trong bàn tay em, em đã giữ quá chặt đến nổi nó không thở được và... nó cắn em thật đau. Đau lắm. Cứ như em đang bị trả đũa vậy, thật ngu ngốc. Ngốc lắm. Từ lúc bắt đầu, em chỉ chịu đựng, đau nhưng vẫn im lặng, muốn hét thật to nhưng vẫn im lặng, muốn nói nhưng vẫn phải im lặng. Nói ra là em thất bại, em đành vậy :)
Em đành buông thôi.
Ừ, đến lúc em buông rồi, em dừng lại thôi. Quá sức chịu đựng, quá giới hạn của em rồi.
Mệt và bế tắc. Trống rỗng và đau đớn, em nhận được 1 cái giá quá đắt. Lol !!!!
Thôi, dừng lại. Dừng lại, nhỉ?
Và bắt đầu 1 cuộc sống mới, 1 con người mới ~ Có lẽ !
Em chỉ tiếc 1 điều là: Chưa bắt đầu mà đã kết thúc, quá dễ dàng :)

Mo é o centro administrativo do município de Modalen, localizado no norte do condado de Vestland, Noruega. A vila encontra-se na foz do rio Moelva, onde desagua no Romarheimsfjorden. Com cerca de 100 residentes, é sede do governo municipal e abriga a Igreja de Mo, construída em 1883. O acesso por carro tornou-se possível em 1976, com a construção do túnel de Modalen. 🚗🌊

Astor Pantaleón Piazzolla, nacido el 11 de marzo de 1921 en la ciudad de Mar del Plata, pasó la infancia entre Buenos Aires y Nueva York - más en la segunda ciudad que en la primera. Empezó a estudiar música a los 9 años en los Estados Unidos, dando continuidad en Buenos Aires y en Europa. En 1935 tuvo un encuentro casi místico con Carlos Gardel, al participar como extra en el film El Día que me Quieras.
Su carrera comienza verdaderamente al participar como bandeonista en la orquesta de Aníbal Troilo. En 1952 gana una beca del gobierno francés para estudiar con Nadia Boulanger, quien lo incentivó a seguir su propio estilo. En 1955 Astor vuelve a casa y forma el Octeto Buenos Aires. Su seleccionado de músicos - en un experiencia similar a la jazzística norteamericana de Gerry Mulligan - termina por delinear arreglos atrevidos y timbres poco habituales para el tango, como la introducción de la guitarra eléctrica.
La presencia de Astor generó de entrada resquemores, envidia y admiración entre la comunidad tanguera. En los años '60 Piazzolla debió salir a defender a golpes de puño su música, avasallada por las fuertes críticas. La controversia iba a propósito de si su música era tango o no, a tal punto que Astor tuvo que llamarla "música contemporánea de la ciudad de Buenos Aires". Pero no era sólo eso: Astor provocaba a todos con su vestimenta informal, con su pose para tocar el bandoneón (actuaba de pie, frente a la tradición de ceñirse al fueye sentado) y con sus declaraciones que sonaban a reto.
La formación de la primera parte de los 60 fue, básicamente, el quinteto. Su público estuvo integrado por universitarios, jóvenes y el sector intelectual, si bien estaba lejos de ser masivo. Astor ya tenía fama de duro y bravo, de peleador, estaba en pleno período creativo y se rodeó de los mejores músicos.
Con Adiós Nonino, Decarísimo y Muerte de un Ángel comenzó a elaborar un camino de éxito que tendría picos en su concierto en el Philarmonic Hall de Nueva York y en la musicalización de poemas de Jorge Luis Borges
En sus últimos años, Piazzolla prefirió presentarse en conciertos como solista acompañado por una orquesta sinfónica con alguna que otra presentación con su quinteto. Es así que recorrió el mundo y fue ampliando la magnitud de su público en cada continente por el bien y la gloria de la música de Buenos Aires.
Astor Piazzolla falleció en Buenos Aires el 4 de julio de 1992, pero dejó como legado su inestimable obra - que abarca unos cincuenta discos - y la enorme influencia de su estilo. En realidad, la producción cultural sobre Piazzolla parece no tener fin: se esparce al cine y al teatro, es constantemente reeditada por las discográficas y cobra vida en la Fundación Piazzolla, liderada por su viuda, Laura Escalada.

Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts erbaut ist der Man Mo Tempel einer der ältesten Temple Hongkongs. Dieser taoistische Temple ist den Göttern Man und Mo geweiht. Außer von Touristen, Fotografen und Models wird der Tempel natürlich im Wesentlichen aufgesucht von Menschen, die sich von höheren Mächten eine positive Wendung ihres Lebens herbeiwünschen. Dies geht mit einem Gebet, Räucherstäbchen oder diesen Räucherspiralen, die man vor Ort käuflich erwirbt und an die man seinen frommen Wunsch auf einem roten Zettel anbringen darf.

Built in the mid-19th century, the Man Mo Temple is one of Hong Kong's oldest temples. This Taoist temple is dedicated to the gods Man and Mo. Besides tourists, photographers, and models, the temple is primarily visited by people seeking a positive turn in their lives from higher powers. This can be done with prayer, incense sticks, or these incense coils, which can be purchased on site and to which one can attach one's pious wish on a red slip of paper.

Another hummingbird slow mo video, shot with iPhone X.
Are you tired of these yet? I know they are all similar, but I can’t get enough of the details - in this one you can really see this bird’s iridescent chin.
This was shot in December in the Los Angeles area. Looking at hummingbird species that live there, it seems like it could be a Rufous or Allen’s hummingbird - any experts want to weigh in?
