I managed to get to Stourhead this evening a little before dusk to grab some shots of the changing colours before the frosts do their worst.

Tortuous climb up to the top viewing platform at Elche’s basilica de Santa Maria…170 steps since you ask.

The low winters sun glinting off XC (CrossCountry) MK3 coaches, working 1V62 1445 York - Worcestershire Parkway.
Posted before, The Up Highland Sleeper at Acton Bridge early on a summers morning. I hadn't noticed the shooting star above the 2nd carriage before.
In summer this beauty spot would be crowded with families and even naughty campers on the other side of the river. But on a very chilly frosty winters dawn it’s peaceful and even more beautiful especially with clear skies and stunning light.
What caught my eye as I wandered around Bellever woods was the hazy golden light upstream and long shadows across the frosty grass. I composed the shot with the sun peeking through the tree creating a small starburst.
Please view large to see the full winters scene.
