The wild and beautiful Vestrahorn mountain on the Stokksnes peninsula, also nicknamed 'Batman Mountain' with dramatic spiky peaks that reach 454 metres high into the sky.

At its base is a glorious black sand beach filled with undulating sand dunes and coastal vegetation that provides a stark contrast to the mountain. As the waves roll in, you can even capture a reflection of Vestrahorn as the water stays atop the sand for a few seconds, before drawing back out to the sea and seeping into the sand below.

You can just about make out the distinctive outline of Batman Mountain on the far right-hand side.

Another Lifer! This is a Neotropic Cormorant. They live along the Gulf Coast down to Argentina. This shot was taken across the Marsh Creek Lake in hazy fog. A tough bird to pick out this far away, it's half the size of a Double Crested Cormorant. What's the wildlife trying to tell us? Marsh Creek State Park , Downingtown, PA.

What a way to end 2021 by seeing and photographing a beautiful female Snowy Owl. Even though it was really foggy, Kevin and I walked the 2 miles through the fog to the jetty. There were a few people looking for the Snowy but couldn't find it and were ready to leave. They were looking at the main dunes. I looked over to the jetty and spotted it right away.
