The first surfy thing I saw in France. A stereotype to be sure. The next French surfer I met wasn't wearing a speedo and was an incredible logger.

Finished this on the weekend all ready to paint, but I wanted to share it now. Dodgey photograph - not sure how the hills hoist is out of focus.
It kinda reminds me of the view and path leading down through the dunes from my grandparents' house.
I have also had the hairbrain idea of making a mini simmons... Anyone ever made one? Do you ride one? Would love to chat to you about how they go, what dimensions you ride. My dad used to shape boards way back when and I think it would be a wicked father/daughter project.

A long paddle out to this famous spot. The paddle is more worth it on the big days (like yesterday and the day before).
With Pro-Box fins, 8" keels are installed in this picture. A set of mini-Simmons keels are on the way. Pro-Box has to be the easiest box to install, as simple as a center box.
The Mini Simmons got a warm reception in France. Much interest and recognition in the parking lot and in the lineup.
This was my third day surfing at Guethary. The swell dropped a lot since the day before, great for the mini. Perhaps Cenitz tomorrow?
