Autumn gingko glows;
Bright fruit, last to leave the branch.
Final fall awaits.
I love the colors of gingko foliage in the fall, and how the fruit (or technically seed pods I guess) precisely match the colors of the leaves throughout the seasons, from green to this brilliant yellow. You don’t want to smell the inside of these gingko seed pods though…whoa! This seed pod was the very last to fall from my tree this season, so I thought that kind of tenacity earned it it’s own image.
India Point Park
Providence, Rhode Island
Remnants from the Port of Providence at India Point (Est. 1680 and so named for the tea and spice trade with the East Indies)---once a center of maritime trade, and then a scrapyard during the Great Depression before being destroyed by the infamous New England hurricane of 1938.
