I've been attempting to do a full minifig decal application, this is what I have so far. There are a few flaws but I am happy with it. I am useing clear waterslide paper and it hasnt been easy, I think I have gone through enough decals to make 5 of these. If it goes easier from here I will include the full torso with my custom green beret figs.

Whilst enjoying the excesses of the holiday season poor Pooch's owner had neglected to take him on the long winter walks Pooch so enjoys.

I was very surprised to find Series 16 minifigs at the LEGO Store already (they're out early!!). This is the wildlife photographer, once I saw the expression on her face, I just knew I had to do a closeup :-)

Note: The Wildlife photographer comes with a hood instead of hair but it's way too hot in Texas for her to wear a hood, so I gave her a hairpiece for the photo - also it was easier to photograph her face without the hood :-)

oh fun table scrap

sorry I'm so inactive, haven't lost interest in lego whatsoever, just have been very busy.

The Disney "100" CMF series includes some odd parts. And by Odd I mean Cursed, Minifig parts. Or possibly Blursed, depending how you look at it.

Like Pinocchio's nose.

Which answers the question, What if Minifigs had noses?

This is just a quick shot I took to show that I think The Martian deserved at least one Oscar. IMHO The Force Awakens deserved one too but I had a feeling The Academy would snub Star Wars, so I was cheering for The Martian on Sunday night. Unfortunately, my cheering did no good because The Martian got snubbed also but it was an excellent movie and I think it deserved to win in at least one category. Now I think I'll make some potatoes for dinner.... lol :-)

Of the new Disney Series, there's only a few minifigs that I wanted - Ariel is one of them :-)

I think LEGO did a great job with this minifig. I really like her hairpiece and the printing on her face is very clean (that makes her easy to photograph). Hopefully I can photograph some of the other minifigs soon :-)

Executive Ellen went to the dentist for a routine cleaning but found out that she needed more extensive work. Normally she doesn't flinch at dental work but Ellen has already had many uncomfortable issues and doctors appointments over the last couple months and she's getting frustrated.

She still didn't want to put down her coffee cup though :-)

The dentist's office is from the new Assembly Square set.....

I've been busy the last few weeks (work) and I haven't had much time for photos. Apparently while I've been frantically working, my minifigs decided to build an active volcano on my kitchen table :-) Last night I found the new female Volcano Scientist photographing the lava. I hope they clean up the mess :-)

I'm trying to get back into the swing of taking pictures especially since the Olympics are starting today :-)

Every night, when I get up to get a glass of water, I find the Janitor quietly mopping all the floors and cleaning all the sidewalks in Lynn's LEGO City. I'm thinking of buying more of this minifig and placing them all around the house. Then maybe all my floors will be clean in the morning? :-)

I spotted Lisa leaving the Brick Bank with some paperwork. Hopefully she got a loan to pay for all those Bricklink orders :-)

Painting a different picture

I couldn't decide which Christmas jumper to wear last Friday on Christmas jumper day, so with that in mind I created the Christmas Jumper Selector.

I've never watched Ninjago but I fell in love with the architecture of the "Temple of Airjitzu" so I got the set last month during double VIP points. I was thrilled to discover female Ninja minifig, Nya, in the set so I took her portrait in the Ninja Training room.

Thanks to Naomi for the legal cutting mat technique.

I got one of the decals applied, mainly to see how it would turn out useing clear waterslide decal paper. I think it worked out pretty good, the colors darkened a little bit but still very good. The minifig is equiped with a brickforge gunbelt and brickarms weapons.

The second design that I am thinking of offering, listed with images of the brickarms that I want offer. Not listed is a brickforge gun holster for the combat knife. Torso design is photo shopped.

Sensei Wu and Misako enjoy some morning tea in the Temple of Arijitzu. From the little bit I've read online about Ninjago, it sounds like their relationship is complicated but I'm going to put them in the "Cute Couple" category anyway :-)

But we need to talk about your lack of mobile phone signal!

Simple lighting setup here: small torch inside tent towards camera; larger torch camera right to illuminate figure (see highlights on his beanie).

I did a quick portrait of the new caroler minifig to show her alternate face. I think LEGO did a great job with this minifig :-)

I'm in the process of printing and sealing some water-slide decals that I will be selling in my bricklink store.

These are the minifigs from the "Thanksgiving Feast" (40123). Notice anything strange? They both have grey hair but their eyebrows and beard (for him) aren't grey. I was tempted to change the heads but I really wanted to show the minifigs as they came in the set. Maybe it's normal to have mismatched hair in LEGO City? :-)

Oooops! Finally caught out on camera.

Executive Elise: "Come on Ellen, it's Friday and let's celebrate by riding the Merry Go Round for awhile".

Ellen: "Yikes!!"

I think Executive Elise is trying to get Executive Ellen to lighten up and have some fun :-) Ellen always looks so serious........

This is my entry to the New Elementary competition "BUILD AND FIX" Contest.

It's late and dark but some brave soul has to guard the gate....

After years of searching Professor Vasiliev had finally found the gate to the lost city of Legotihuacan, it had been a his life long obsession to find it. Not only had cost him his marriage, but he'd spend much of his vast fortune to find what many believed was only a AFOL myth spoken about only at LUG meet up's and in dark corners of LEGO shows. But has it's all been worth it ? , will he find a full box of Series 10 containing only Mr Gold ? or a sealed Cloud City Set ? As he sleeps, his faithful sidekick Elem guards the door which could open on a fortune.....

I know treasure is more of a pirates kind of thing, but I found these old sets from childhood while cleaning in my grandparents basement. I thought they were long gone, but they'd been sitting high on some old shelves for years. Couldn't believe it!

The parts are pretty dusty, but can be washed for the most part. The boxes are in decent shape, and the instructions and promotional material are emaculate. Man, I should clean more often!

Some more closeups of the rest of the minifigs. Credit for the flamethrower goes to Aaron.

This was my first time building rocks, but I am quite happy with the result. Just the positioning of the minifig was nerve-racking, because it slipped down all the time.

Another cute couple is visiting the fancy restaurant for Valentine's Day. The disco couple can't stop singing "Staying Alive" and dancing around the restaurant :-) The waiter will be glad once Valentine's Day is over.....

On a different note - has anyone else seen the leaked box images of the new UCS Hoth set? I've been excitedly waiting for this set since the rumors came out last year BUT the box images show that Leia has been excluded from the set! There's a Luke, Han and other minifigs but no Leia. I'm very disappointed. Unlike Hasbro, LEGO has always been good about including female characters in sets but not this time :-( Supposedly the set will be officially announced tomorrow at the New York Toy Fair so we'll know more then.....

Coco soon reached the decision, he really wasn't cut out for Circus life.

Here is, a not very good, picture of some of the custom minifigs I have made. I just realised that its been about 6 months since I started customising minifigs and it's been a real learning journey. I've had a pretty tough year really and I got into Lego customising as I was signed off work, it really gave me something to focus on. Now I just want to say a big thank you to all the customisers who inspired and encouraged me uptill now... and I cant list them all but special mention to Kaminoan, MMCB, Arealight, Jasbrick, Morgan19(0), Levork, Xueren and DrVenkman - and really this is just a small number of people whose work and comments I really value.

Thought I’d do an extra post to show off the minifigs and crates used in my recent Mimban MOC. As I mentioned in the video I posted, the Mudtroopers use TMC heads that work perfectly to catch the looks and emotions of soldiers on the field. Blasters used by all them are from BA which includes some DC-15, E-11 and DC-17 blasters. For the ranking officer, I used the head from Jor El and the body/cape from Captain Beckett. The scout trooper uses the design I saw my friend Luca use for one of his MOCs. Crates use simple pieces like the printed imperial dish attached to the 1x1 Modified Brick with Stud on one Side. Lastly, the 74-Z speeder bike. I used some design elements from Luca and others online to make my own. In the future, I’ll be making a video step by step instruction on how to make it. Let me know if you’d like to see extra posts like these with my MOCs and if I missed something, tell me below. Thank you for reading.
