I've never been good at journaling, but I manage to have a bullet journal to keep track of my blogging, and random ideas or dates I need to remember.

During my unplanned break, and being without a computer with which to "work" on things, I didn't write much more, but I did come up with some ideas, and I'm working on them.

Also decided I shouldn't stress with my blogging requirements, and focus more on RL and myself, take care of myself, and for example, not to feel "guilty" if I don't log in one evening.

Many little changes actually make a huge difference, and that's especially good when it makes you happier.

I'm still trying to catch up with the latest releases, featuring here Apple Fall, Fancy Decor and Moss&Mink, I hope you like it! <3

In our westernized mindset and our own human nature we always want to see the whole picture. Now I know many of you like to see the details and I would consider myself to be like that as well, but if we are honest we don't like just seeing glimpses. It is like seeing the trailer to a great movie, you want to see the whole movie not just a short clip. Only seeing glimpses is hard. The lack of patience in our nature begs us to know the whole story plus a little bit of curiosity.

Right now we can only see glimpses of what is to come. Many are afraid of what is ahead and many of us are glad we cannot see the future right now as it frankly feels very scary in the present. However, for those who are in Christ Jesus the current glimpses give us a longing and hope for what is to come. We have only seen in part and what we have seen is truly incredible in and of itself. We have witnessed the saving power of God through the death and resurrection of Jesus, but we will in the future witness the full bore of all the riches of His glory which He will share to His beloved!

A beautiful day starts with a beautiful mindset. Your thoughts focused on what is good and beautiful. Your mind set to rejoice, enjoy and have fun.

There's a certain mindset that I like to slip into when I'm out there alone with my camera. It's a sort of relaxed attentiveness. A meditative state that's easier to reach on familiar turf, perhaps, than when travelling. Instead of trying to rush from highlight to highlight - which doesn't work very well on the prairie, where one hillside is very much like another - I slow myself down and get on "prairie time."

In June I was able to practice this on an overcast day when I slept too late and drove out to Grasslands without any fixed idea of what I wanted to do. After an unproductive half hour getting there and driving down to the valley bottom, I parked near a little bridge and wandered down to the water's edge. And sat. And waited. "Let it come to me," I thought. Which "it" did.

First, the birds. A Willet, some Brewer's Blackbirds, and a Killdeer pair all arrived on the scene and decided I was no threat. Gradually they worked in close, catching insects, the female Killdeer taking time out for this courtship display, the male Killdeer too involved with feeding to take much note. (Get with it, buddy!)

Three more shots to come from this outing...

In the middle of difficultly, lies opportunity.

I need 200

Cause 200 got the potential to be 2 mil

Ya see 2 mil got the potential to be more than just a meal

Dinner for 2 cost you the whole run of the mill

And FUCK, my mindset 200 still

Took me over 200 weeks to cultivate how this feels

As my first title coincidentally twinned with my contact Charlotte's image of a monk's statue, called 'Meditation', I have re-named it in respect for her post :-)

What a lovely place to explore is this!

A paradise of pleasure, relax and meditation - You can spend moments of serenity surrounded by nature. A feast on the eye, music to dream away - and a gentle spirit that might be possible even to heal wounded hearts and souls.

What a special little treasure to visit - make sure you take the chance ...

After almost two and half years in Arkansas, we finally decided to move mack to Los Angles last year. While planning the move, we thought it would be a great idea to give our daughter her first road trip. It took me almost a month to plan the trip, but I think barring one day, we managed a pretty relaxing drive from the northwest of Arkansas to sunny southern California. The last time I made a cross-country trip, I drove the entire distance without stopping much, and I would not make the same mistake this time.

So, we decided to take a less busy route and visit some of the spectacular locations on the way. I adjusted my mindset to look at this as a scouting trip as we had minimal time to plan and a temperamental two-year-old to manage. Thankfully everything worked out great. Our daughter loved the outdoors and had a blast. Conditions mainly were tremendous, and I had some portfolio-worthy images without much effort.

One of the locations we visited was the beautiful National Wildlife refuge of Bosque Del Apache. Ever since I heard about this beautiful location, it was on my must-visit list, and finally, I had the chance. We were a bit early for the migrant birds, but I didn’t mind it one bit when I saw how beautiful the whole area was. It might be known for its wildlife, but it is not a bad place for a landscape photographer. I came across this stunning location while we were on our self-drive tour. The perfect stillness and rust-colored foliage on the screen just looked perfect. I took a lot of images of the sandhill cranes at the reserve, but this landscape image was my favorite from this beautiful location.

Last beautiful and colourful autumn day yesterday. Charging batteries for the time to come.

(Its not a HDR for those who might wonder.. its just the crazy dynamic range of the D850..)

Late afternoon in St. Gallen, Switzerland

I find this shot of the rather light coloured red deer stag quite amusing... I know why it's doing what it's doing but my 15 year old mindset can't help but think it's just being rather rude to the other deer!
