Sometimes my mind is going in circles.

Because of the framing of this and the circles, I feel like this is not a proper rectangle, but it is.

Even if you are in prison, your angle of freedom is in the way of thinking choose. No one can ever take it away!

Anche se sei in prigione, il tuo angolo di libertà sta nel modo in cui scegli di pensare. nessuno potrà mai sottrartelo!

Sorry not to be posting recently, but I have been coding up a Flickr photo mining tool I hope you will like. There's lots to do yet, but I think it's ready for a beta test:

flickrhivemind.net

What can you do right now?

Search and display photos, with thumbnails up to 250x250, by Tags, Text, Username, Recentness, or Explore.

Retrieve up to 500 results at a time - little or no paging, as long as your computer can deal with it and flickr doesn't revoke my API keys.

Todo list:

a) No authentication yet, so this will only find public photos. DONE

b) No searching of contacts or favorites yet. COMPLETE

c) I want to add a license filter you can retrieve only photos that offer certain license terms.COMPLETE

d) It will be easy to add intelligent reading of date formats people type in, but that's not there yet... COMPLETE

This tool is dedicated to AnnuskA Hjärta and her Flickritis.

Also thanks to Flickr Leech for inspiration.

There are times when we all need a helping hand

THANK YOU FOR YOUR VIEWS, COMMENTS

“The Fish” strikes again! This is one of my last shots from this interesting place. As I look at it I’m reminded of how I had the world’s worst runny nose from the freezing temperatures. However, this stairway just couldn’t be ignored.

A few of you guys are probably wondering if I disappeared off the face the Earth, especially Exposure.Detroit members. I can definitely say I’m attending the May show! I’m about 60 days away from getting married and little tasks are popping out of the woodwork everywhere. See ya guys!

So disjointed,

anamnesis is always the first to yield.

The present dispersed amidst fading yesterdays

as tomorrow becomes today

and all I know is lost to dreams,

quelled before the inquisitor

of perception’s vacillation.

I walk amidst fragmented thoughts,

a fractured man in a broken mind,

a stranger in my psyche,

building walls of self deception,

staving a path twixt Angels and Demons,

tainted in the purgatory of my soul,

torn between the darkness and the light

yet bound to intuition I cannot trust.

For what is reality?

If not but an assumption of the many,

bestowed by the few, conceived by the one

who sees beyond the veneer

of discerned corporeality?

Delving deeper beyond the veil,

lost to chimeras that hold revelations

and falsehoods in equal abundance.

A gift that keeps giving yet becomes its own curse....

Another shot from a series taken on 5th July 1976 intended to capture Attenborough and Beeston stations.

The signalman is just opening the crossing gates after passage of light-engine class 47 (47199) seen disappearing into the distance. It's obviously a warm day (remember the '76 heat-wave?) seeing as he's got the large window slid open. Meantime the driver of the Morris 1800 isn't showing too much patience as he moves into the middle of the road to get through when just enough of a gap has opened.

In the distance a PW Gang can be seen resuming work on the facing crossover. This leads to the Ordnance Depot at Chilwell which was still seeing a reasonable amount of freight traffic at the time - usually hauled by class 25s where the wheelbase was short enough to cope with the tight curves leading in to the complex.

Attenborough station wasn't in the best state of repair in the 70s as can be seen by the foot crossing and "out of order" crudely scrawled on the side-gate. The footbridge wasn't in much better condition either. A few years earlier all local signalling had passed to Trent Power Box a couple of miles down the track and, despite the characterful Midland Railway box, the signalman's duties consisted of little more than operating the level crossing gates. Even these were to be replaced eventually by barrier gates, at which time the signal box was demolished.

There are still a few more to come which I'll put up in due course.

Beware the Vulcan mind meld!

The original plan was to ride to the Heswall Dales for sunset straight from work but with a bad crick in my neck that also seems to be giving me some back pain i took the easier option of riding to Eastham woods.

With the setting sun shining straight into the woods i tried ramping the apertrture up to f20 to get a long enough exposure to zoom into the shot to create an unusual looking photo

A shot taken earlier this year on a stormy day. In fact the winter storms have taken their toll on the beach huts so that one has gone and others are being repaired.

in this one the Mirror twins have gone a bit too far this time ... actually blown their minds ....no idea how it happened we were supposed to be going to the cinama but not to be

My theory is there minds have been stolen by hackers ... absolutely nothing in there ... just darkness & a couple of old t-shirts

Minden, Schachtschleuse, November 2014

More than a year ago, I had set my mind on creating a massive MOC that some of you may have actually seen in real life. 'The City of Andarstrœm' was on display at Bricking Bavaria 2022 but never made it to a greater audience as I was not satisfied with the outcome. It was rushed. It was too much. It just wasn't what I had in mind.

For the past few months, I spent every spare minute life has to offer to break the scene apart and reinterprete it all. The outcome are four individual glimpses at what could be a fictional Rivendell-inspired city.

Hope you enjoy and take some time to make up stories for these scenes! Feel free to get carried away in the comments!

I must thank Marcel for giving such a great companion in the process and seeing the little details I would always miss. Love also goes to Rolli for being so supportive, excited and inspiring. You guys are the best!
