Nine Million Bicyles_Katie Melua
There are nine-million bicycles in Beijing.
That's a fact,
It's a thing we can't deny,
Like the fact that I will love you 'til I die.
We are twelve-billion light years from the edge.
That's a guess,
No one can ever say it's true,
But I know that I will always be with you.

Old faithful, how I'm missing getting down there.

Like so many millions of people around the world, I am completely shaken by the war in Ukraine.
This is my SL depiction based on a RL image I saw online of a decimated cemetery in Ukraine several days ago. The heart stopping image haunted me...and I was profoundly moved.
What is happening in Ukraine is simply horrendous. I am appalled that we are 22 years into this NEW CENTURY, NEW MILLENIUM and horrific and vile war crimes such as those committed during WWII are actually occurring! It seems history only repeats itself.
PLEASE, AS A GLOBAL COMMUNITY, LET US PRAY FOR PEACE FOR UKRAINE!!! AND PRAY THAT THE TERRIBLE PERPETRATOR (S) ARE CAUGHT, HELD RESPONSIBLE, TRIED AND PUNISHED FOR THEIR CRIMES IN THE SOVEREIGN NATION OF UKRAINE!!! LET JUSTICE PREVAIL!!!!
The link below is for a song by Clan of Xymox's. It was written for this war in Ukraine and the video is amazing and heart wrenching.

Every 2 years the Grand-Place (central square) in Brussels is covered with a flower carpet of begonias during 3 or 4 days. The carpet of 77 m x 24 m is composed by about 120 volunteers, with nearly one million begonias.
This year, in 2016 the event was from Friday 12 to Monday 15 August 2016 at the Grand-Place (Grote Markt) in Brussels.
(Athough they said it is made of Belgian Begonias, I noticed a lot of Dahlia's !)
The theme this year (2016) was Japan, and you can see the Japanese flag in the design, Koi carps, Bonsai , Bamboo and the crane bird.

This image is called 'A Million Flowers'. It was inspired by the story of Niko Pirosmani, a Georgian artist, who sold his house and all his belongings to buy flowers for a French actress he fell in love with. I tried to imagine what she saw when she looked out of her hotel window and saw the square filled with flowers for her.

@Wikipedia
The hero putti are in battle with four human plagues depicted as animals. The lion embodies war, the basilisk - a mythical creature - the plague, a dragon represents hunger and a snake represents disbelief.
Climate scientists swear there's nowhere drier than Chile's little-known Atacama Desert and in particular the Cordillera de la Sal (Salt Mountains). It was formed million of years ago. It was an old lake, which bottom went raising by the same movements of the terrestrial coast which gave origin to the Andes Mountains.

In the stunning Butchart Gardens, near Victoria, British Columbia.
The Gardens are over 100 years old and occupy 22 hectares (55 acres). Originally a limestone quarry that supplied a local cement works, the owners (Butchart family) decided to beautify the worked-out area. Designated a National Historic Site of Canada, almost one million people visit it annually.

On the 19th I'm celebrating my 75th birthday, 16 years on Flickr and 24 million views.
The bare-faced curassow (Crax fasciolata) is a species of bird in the Cracidae family, the chachalacas, guans, curassows, etc. It is found in eastern-central and southern Brazil, Paraguay, and eastern Bolivia, and extreme northeast Argentina, in the cerrado, pantanal, and the southeastern region of the Amazon basin. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forests and subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests.
The bare-faced curassow lives in moist, semi-deciduous and gallery forests, often near the fringes of the woodland. It mainly feeds on fruit, but seeds, flowers and small invertebrates are also eaten. Breeding takes place in the summer in the southern part of its range, with the nests being platforms of sticks in trees.
The bare-faced curassow has a wide range and is fairly numerous in parts of its range, however it is subject to hunting and to the destruction of its habitat and the total population is likely to be declining quite rapidly. The International Union for Conservation of Nature has assessed its conservation status as "vulnerable". – Wikipedia

A gentle breath of wind lifts millions of fresh snowflakes off the branches and into the late afternoon sunlight providing the only movement in the otherwise almost abandoned plains of Carr, Colorado.
Hard to believe I've reached 3 million total views today, thanks to everyone who takes the time to favourite & comment on my photos, many of which are just quick iPhone photos, nowhere near the quality of many images on here. To all my wonderful Flickr friends I really do appreciate your support, encouragement & contributions to my various Flickr groups.

under the moonlight
within your warm embrace
i feel so safe here babe
you were worth the wait
yeah i picked the wrong kind
time after time
i drank from the poisoned wine
yeah i picked the wrong kind
but baby you're all right
baby i've seen the light
under the moonlight
under your moonlit gaze
i know that I'd take
one million bullets babe
yeah, one million bullets
could come my way
i want you to know that
i'd take a million babe
how many would you take?
"You give me a million reasons
Give me a million reasons...
I've got one hundred million reasons to walk away
But baby I just need one good one to stay"

Every year at Christmas the Norfolk Botanical Gardens, and the Virginia Beach Ocean Front decorate with holiday lighting. The NBG lets you walk the display for a week. We were able to do the walk last night and this is one of the scenes.
